Usually I drop the passenger off on the street outside their house, but a few times lately I've been told to drop them off in their driveway, necessitating finding exactly the right one, then backing out into traffic. I don't mind if there is a reason, i.e. elderly pax, pouring rain ect, But when it seems to be a respect my authority thing in a posh suburb for a ten dollar fare, it seems a bit precious and lacking in the egalitarian spirit..

Yeh ,"finding the right one " probably lead to a poor navigation report by pax, should you pull into the wrong driveway :(

I get my rechargeable LED touch out for them after I drive them onto their drive way and open each of their car doors before escorting them to the house doors with the torch. After they reach the house door they hand me their keys and I open the door for them holding it open for them as they step inside the door and I hand them back the keys as I close the house door for them and wishing them a goodnight. I then get back into the car.

I like to think that they appreciate that extra level of service like Uber have been advising me to do... Door 2 Door service

Just say sorry cant do that my car my rule you are getting off here on the street. &%[email protected]!*in hell who cares if the have more money then others. They should learn to respect others. Teach them a lesson next time if they ask you to drop them off to thier driveway.

I had a laugh reading this... But seriously what's wrong with you people whats so hard to drive on the driveway ??? Always , i always driveon driveway more safer to drop off then the street... You are becoming the just like taxi drivers .. Whining about everything... Grow up...
And i understand if there's branches or something that might damage the car. But if you think its so hard to back out of a driveway you should not be having a licence

If it's a millennial demanding dropoff in their driveway, I always do, then turn off my car and get out to open their door and come back for their bags.

I drive a BMW that's done nearly 9,000km so it leaks more oil than the deepwater horizon.

Most driveways here aren't on busy stretches of road, so backing into traffic generally isn't an issue. The main thing that determines if I'll pull into a driveway or not is how smooth the approach is in front of it, some are obnoxious and even the pax understand me not wanting to pull into their drive.

What is that, a couple months of driving? I would hope that most cars at 9,000km are in near perfect condition.
