I didn't get too many surge fares on Sunday. I too have found that many times finding myself in the big surge zones (with the exception of downtown between 1:30 and 2:45 AM) usually leads to delay in rider requests, and nothing happens, so I don't chase surge zones. One thing that did happen to my on Sunday was CONSTANT overlap. I couldn't get people dropped off fast enough without already having the next fare already set to go. After 6 hours of non-stop driving, I had to take a 20-minute break to get gas, stretch out outside, grab some grub, etc. Within 15 seconds of getting online, it was back to wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am with rider requests. I finally logged off at 4 AM simply because I was starting to get tired and had to call it a day. I cleared more fares and more $$$ on Sunday than I did on Friday or Saturday, and I already thought I did pretty well on Friday. If it wasn't for the six fares that requested and I accepted on Sunday that immediately cancelled within a minute or so, and a few other things, I would have cleared over 40 trips. And that included a lot of long ones I had earlier in the afternoon back-to-back: Altoona to WDSM, WDSM to Ankeny, Ankeny to Waukee, Waukee to Norwalk, Norwalk to BFE Norwalk, BFE Norwalk to Clive, Clive to Altoona... Yeah, it was busy out there.I was just on the wdm side of that surge zone, got up to 7.9, no one west of me and no pings. Had to have been a glitch surge. Watched it come all the way down to 1.5 before I finally got anything. Drivers started flooding the zone anyway, dumb thing to do - only kills the surge.
And you didn't make a dime at the base rate.I didn't get too many surge fares on Sunday. Nope, I only made $135.02 plus another $43 in cash tips, less fuel costs. Payout and tips included I made $800 for the week before expenses. No biggie. And you didn't make a dime at the base rate.
