I've been a 4.97 star driver for 4 years. My account was deactivated and now being reviewed because the background chkr reported that I received careless driving ticket. There were no passengers in the car and it was at trap pulling out of coffee stop. It was a safe left turn but against a sign at 2 am with no cars on the road. What outcome should I expect from Uber? I would have gone to court and tried to get it reduced but my license had no points and figured they be erased in a year of good driving. What outcome should I expect from Uber? Its hard to know if they even processed my response and the uber phone contact not much help. I'd at least like to know a decision even if they decide to permanently deactivate me. I also drive lyft but it's not as popular and no eats on lyft.

Im not sure with the new stimulus bill that is being passed or the details but it looks like they are trying to incorporate everyone who is unemployed as a result of COVID so it doesn’t matter if you’re an independent contractor or not. You will have to prove most likely, what your average earnings have been in the last 20 weeks and there is probably some other eligibility but no one knows yet .

doesn't seem possible since we are viewed and actually drive as independent contractors.
Look it up, new US government bailout deal specifically mentions U/L drivers being able to collect, here's just one quote:
=================================

"I drive for Uber. Will I benefit from the bill?

Yes. The self-employed, including freelancers and gig workers, will be treated as small businesses under the stimulus bill and therefore can obtain loans or grants through the Small Business Administration, according to Katie Vlietstra, vice president for government relations and public affairs for the National Association for the Self-Employed."

"Businesses of one are businesses," she said.

tks , it's a side gig but I just wanted to be reactivated. I don't know the process they use and if it will just be filed in the forever file. I guess I'm out for a minor 2 point ticket. sheesh. doesnt seem fair with all the driving I did and miles put on. pretty unforgiving for a little ticket at a trap for all the miles and satisfied passengers.

On your ticket, SUZI talks about a 3 strike rule that put her out of action for a long time. But you're only talking about ONE incident.

I would do a STRONG email to support from your desktop Dashboard, and keep resending it until you hear something. Talking to anyone offshore is usually a waste of time in my experience.

But there's some saving grace for you in that you're not losing much income because there a virtually no profitable rides
.

My experience is that it's usually a sad mistake to expect any justice, reasonability, fairness, compassion or caring of any kind from UBER, specifically. The only thing that has worked for me is writing repeatedly. That may get you a response but not any resolution in your favor. And certainly it's going to be more difficult now since many are working from home.

Ok, ty. I've provided my response to the link they sent. Then they replied back saying it was the wrong place to send it.
I guess I'll just accept, I'm done Uber driving and will try to focus on Lyft driving . I'm a 5 star driver on the Lyft platform.
taking a break now and will re-evauate it all later. I consider it Uber's loss. I have great ratings and comments from thousands of riders. Oh well - bye Uber.

You're toast, finished, finito. Uber will toss you aside like a piece of trash.

But you have a "4.97" rating you say ? Lol . Uber doesn't care. It doesn't matter if you have a thousand rides, gave water and goodies to every pax you've ever driven, and sprinkle rose petals at the feet of every ghetto hood rat you've ever driven.

Maybe if you were a female and looked like a supermodel you could sleep with one of the higher ups at the greenlight hub ? But aside from that you're finished.

Any accidents in the last three years? Fender benders? Bumper kisses? Anything that generated a police report and/OR an insurance claim or inquiry?

Even if they weren't your fault, they get counted into the 3-in-3, and you won't be eligible until the oldest ages out and you make a trip to the GLH for them to verify and clear the way for you to put up all your new documents and be re-background checked...

What, exactly, does your Checkr report say?

That's a "loan".
That means if we apply and get money from the sba we will have to pay it back with interest.

The question was "can we now claim unemployment?"
according to Katie Vlietstra, no, we have the right to apply for a loan.

Who knows what will get passed until its passed but, even if we get a loan for 3 months of near no activity, how many of us make enough to pay back another $10,000 in debt after 3 months of no pay???

no other tickets with points assigned.

made a left turn at a wawa late at night with no cars on the road, careless driving ticket 2 pts, no accidents.

it's under review. I was just wondering if it will ever get out of review or I'll get reactivated.

I give up , Ill focus on lyft when I'm ready to get back into driving after the vaccine comes out

bye Uber, it was nice while it lasted. Its Uber's loss, I was a great driver.

You missed an important detail. It discussed a "loan OR GRANT." A GRANT IS A FREE AND CLEAR gift of cash with no strings. I don't think that even donkeys like us are slow enough to take a LOAN. Sorry, I should have been more clear. Again, this is not signed off on yet and all may change by the pols, who have good jobs, before they get finished with it.

If this is OP's only ticket, he should be home free. But, I think there is much more to this than he is posting. If he is 3 in 3, then he will be sidelined for a while.
All I can say on this subject is one has to love the lack of reciprocity between some of the "local states" that border one another...

Look it this way. Every time I've left a job. I found a better one. And looked back asking myself...why the hell did I do that for so long? Maybe it's for the best. Maybe now you will start brainstorming and land yourself a nice gig whatever it is and look back and say " why the hell I wasted my time for so long" I recommend instead of fighting with Uber. Move on quick and look for opportunities. Someone I won't mention by name on this forum wasted 1 year of her life waiting for Uber to reinstate her. You be ok brother. Don't listen to small minds guiding you to hand outs. Make it happen.

Forget points. That would make it a major incident.

3-in-3 is ANY minor moving violation, and ANY minor accident, regardless of fault.

Get points out of your mind here.

Now, let's try this again. How many tickets in the last 36 months?

Oh, and if Uber caught it, Lyft won't be far behind. It's an insurance thing, not an U/L thing. The insurance companies refuse to cover you.

ANYONE as of this date and time, who is not a member of the House, has NO idea what the bill even says. When it heads to the Senate, it will change. Might be adopted, might not. If it is adopted and sent to his a Royal Cheetoness to sign, THEN we'll know exactly what it says. Until such a time, everyone can ONLY speculate. Which really isn't helpful at all, because what happens if, in the end, rideshare drivers aren't included in the Bill?

Exactly.

You ALWAYS go to court... having points added to your license WILL increase your insurance by a lot so you always go to court and most times they reduce it to no points. You still have to pay the tickets and court fees which makes it a bit more expensive but on the long run is better than having the points as you can witness by having been deactivated.
Good luck.
