She's right, that type of behavior, regardless of what the customer writes/says, is unacceptable.

That said, it's probably when she called in, that employee that changed her name.

She already sounds a bit B*****y in that written email, I can't imagine what her initial reaction to a delayed then cancel delivery was like.

I've had this happened, a few times, but have always known in the back of my head I can have recourse with my cc if needed.

What's surprising, is that she used to or works in currently, customer service and she still is so bleh. Seriously? It's not the end of the world. And if she really had people visiting from out of town. Who wants to visit sf only to get food delivered? I'd rather eat out and explore sf then stay in an apartment with takeout.

None of the supporters that write to me ever seem to have a sense of humor. & I've tried, but they're always totally humorless.

Most likely she was getting some special discount on Uber eats , there is always a good promotion with them.

Try amazon flex lol they are support team has a lot humor and the women often come off flirtatious ! With uber support it always sounds rehearsed and fake.
I applaud the service support representative from far away letting the complainer get it. People that ask why why are the worst and are usually entitled. Glad no one pick her burrito up for 5 dollars a hour and a big stiff.

And how does this even get Huff's attention? Complainer sent it in? It's funny as hell, so of course they published it, but I've had plenty of people offend me with their attitude and I never felt like it was a thing that needed public attention (or whatever public reads Huffpo. This complainer is earning her new name. I wonder if the support person knows the C word?
I actually read it. Lovely bed time tale.

That meant her sister would get a ride from a driver who would call her "*****," mistakenly believing that was her actual first name.

That would have been hilarious tho, not something to be upset about.

the spokesman said. "High quality customer service is something we strive for every day
Really?

And no company had the right to treat her this way. She does realize an actual independant human took this action, right? Just an unfortunate, but amusing incident in her life. The burrito didn't arrive either way, so..... Would she rather have had a generic response? That wouldn't result in her little problem's write up in the tabloid. Employee should be rewarded for creativity.

And what di they pay for the premium service of having an entire human and car devote the time to go pick up her lone meal and bring it to her door? Does she think it's really enough to provide a reliable service? Idrk, but I assume Uber would charge like $5 for the delivery and pay the driver $3.

And it's sad to me, how people get so righteously indignant about this kind of thing. Does she not for a moment stop to think "this isn't about me, and it's not that Uber thinks they have the right to treat their customer like this. The employee may have reached his last straw that day, and who knows their story, but it's certainly not personal and they're probably way worse off than someone who just didn't get their "mission style" burritos sent to their door one night. And they were in such an unpleasant place they ****ed up & got themselves fired (or this is how they quit). But Ms young and able to move to SF can only think about the "injustice" done to her. "They have no right to treat me this way. I'm going to the tabloids with this story." She's a big girl now.

It's interesting that they published this given that their founder sits on the board of directors at uber

How bleeping lazy are people that they can't go out and eat a burrito ? Half the fun of eating a burrito is sitting in El Farolito watching the drunks order burritos !

Hey UberEats way to kill off the only profitable portion of Uber by killing off tips and wondering why no drivers wanted to pick up her burritos. 1.2 boost ain't going to cut it.

There is nothing to be gained by antagonizing support.

Imagine what they go through each day !

I always thank them for fixing my problems.
You want a cheap service - this is an example of cheap service. Nobody wanted her order because
the pay stinks. And there's no tip. What are the odds that the new CEO realizes ubereats is the worst
idea on record and cans the dis-service within 6 months?
