She's right, that type of behavior, regardless of what the customer writes/says, is unacceptable.
That said, it's probably when she called in, that employee that changed her name.
She already sounds a bit B*****y in that written email, I can't imagine what her initial reaction to a delayed then cancel delivery was like.
I've had this happened, a few times, but have always known in the back of my head I can have recourse with my cc if needed.
What's surprising, is that she used to or works in currently, customer service and she still is so bleh. Seriously? It's not the end of the world. And if she really had people visiting from out of town. Who wants to visit sf only to get food delivered? I'd rather eat out and explore sf then stay in an apartment with takeout.
