Do you really care about the Uber cancellation rate?

  • Yes, I care about my Uber cancellation rate, and complete even obviously loosing trips.

  • No, I don't care about my Uber cancellation rate, and cancel loosing trips on the spot.

  • I have not decided yet.

I highly recommend watching the following video from Rideshare Professor about why you don't have to bother about Uber acceptance and cancellation rates. As for me, I came to this idea on my own.
And also, read the comments from other Uber drivers. Share this video if you think it is telling the truth!

22 minutes of rant. He has some good points, but the whole video is pointless - uber does not give a s-t what we think.
If someone has to rely on uber income - he needs to stop and think - may be it is better to get educated and get a real job.
As a secondary income uber is the best, and I tried some before. Without it I would not be able to finance several rental properties.

My cancellation rate recently jumped from 3% to 11% overnight without me actually cancelling trips. It has even inched higher to 13%, still without me cancelling trips.

It is just Uber's psycho game. It sure makes me less welling to go online and deal unnecessary dramas.

I think the reality is that after some age point employers do not care about giving people upward mobility in their careers.

For those younger, they are better off either learning a skill valued by employers or politicking and brown nosing (face right up in there) to get ahead.

You reach an age point where education won't really improve your employability and employers don't really give promotions to older junior level employees.

In that case, being an Uber driver is a good alternative use of time.

What is that age point though?

35? Older than that? Younger?

It works through the last 30 days of trips, so if you had a lot of rides done 29 days ago, and a lot of cancels in the last week, then when the calculation window passes the 30 days from the 'bulk of rides,' the ratio of "accepted rides" to "cancelled rides" changes. This happens all the time, in both the positive and negative directions. It's just the calculation/process UBER has decided upon.

Not sure, but maybe someone knows - with cancellation rate under 5% you can get re-matched right after drop-off at Pearson instead of going to shitter. Is it true?
so far works for me, and I want to keep it this way.
btw, incorrect that they will not deplatform you for cancellations- Lyft kicked me out (but I am fine with that). However I need to stay on Uber and can’t risk it.

Im not sure about that, but I've been told if you consistently keep it under 5% then can score a free donut at Tim Horton's on Tuesdays.

How can something be free if it doesn't exist?

"Hi there can I get a ___ doughnut?"
"Sorry we're all out of those..."

No, it's untrue. I have the cancellation rate above 20% and still get re-matched at Pearson airport.

Brother, you are really cool! Way to go!
How do you know which trips to accept, and which trips to decline if you don't know the destination address due to your high cancellation rate? If you don't want to publish your answer here, please send the private message.
