It saddens me to report this:
Yesterday I picked up a lady and her full grown Husky dog. They were in my car for about 40 minutes slowly moving on the interstate at 5 pm. Her dog jumped all over my backseats and did not sit quietly even though she promised me the dog would just sit still and not move. I dropped her off, she apologized for the mess the dog made to my back seat and then left. There was absolutely no way anyone would get in my car after that ride due to the massive amount of dog hair and scratches in my backseats. Anyone who were to get in my car would give it a one star or not get in it at all, it had to be cleaned immediately. I took pics and sent them to Uber; this was the first time I have submitted to Uber. I have cleaned up dog hair before, however, this one was an excessive amount of hair and the dog damaged my leather seats.

Uber's response: they will not reimburse me for the cleaning cost, this is normal wear and tear you should expect driving for Uber.

I understand that there might be some dirt you need to shake off your mats from time to time, however, having your whole back seat covered in dog hair and scratches in the leather seats should be covered by cleaning costs from the rider.

You have been warned about dogs my fellow Uber drivers, it's just not worth it.

Has anybody else been denied cleaning costs from dog rides?

I actually had the opposite experience. I had a lady and her fat pug get in the car. She stated he was a service dog, so I allowed it. Drove her from Carmel to Fishers. She gets out and I check the back seat. Dog hair everywhere. I logged off, took pics and sent them to Uber. I had $150 extra in my account before the end of the day.
