We're talking about a morally and ethically corrupted company that not only breaks the rules of the countries it operates in BUT also sabotages other taxi companies and ride sourcing companies too.

...does UBER set a dangerous precedent for politicians to look the other way regarding safety and consumers rights?

Is it ethically and morally right that UBER intimidates governments, businesses and the public?
The government is not being intimidated by Uber. Lol. The government is as deceptive as Uber. If the money is paid into the right, governing bodies...the government is happy. Uber just did not. Maybe for a quick buck.

As it stands, there is no state or territory in Australia where driving for uberX is a legal activity.

Drivers, read your documentation. You are putting yourself at extreme risk, for little return. Review your Transportation Provider Service Agreement, then seek legal advice. If you are unsure of anything, stop driving. The risks that you and all uberX drivers take are just too great.

Wake up Australia.

Uber has paid and is paying all fines and providing lawyers to anyone who is being targeted for ridesharing. There is no risk driving for UberX in Australia.

No risk? You serious? As an Uber "Partner" you are responsible for any and all claims made by irate, injured or dead Uber riders, all liability falls on you not Uber, it's in black and white written in the Partner Agreement Uber Doober. Uber claim to have an Insurance policy that they will not show to anyone, I am in business and must forward my Certificate Of Currency to anyone who asks? Why doesn't Uber? Uber force us to drive without proper Insurance and force us to make a claim on that policy first in the event of an accident, the possible ramifications may include a fraud charge and future denial of coverage by other Insurers.
There is a huge risk glados.

Your avatar is also unfortunate, it looks like a surveillance camera but maybe this is deliberate and also very creepy no doubt like your self.

Uber provides commercial insurance for UberX in Australia, including a US $5 million contingent coverage for bodily injury and property damage to third parties. Please see http://newsroom.uber.com/sydney/201...afe-reliable-and-affordable-transport-option/

I responded to your post about Uber fines. Uber has paid and is paying for all fines to Australian drivers.

Can they please pay the fines owed by DRIVERS in Florida, some of which have gone to collections not against Uber but against DRIVERS.

What fines are they for? If it's for picking up at an airport, etc (which Uber tells you not to do), then no. But otherwise, send an email...

Uhhh yea right, DRIVERS owe more than 2 million dollars in Miami Dade County alone.
Uber is appealing these citations (at their expense) and the court cases are still pending. If they lose the appeals Uber will pay all the citations.

Its been over a year, some drivers have gone into collections, WHEN will Uber pay? How do drivers reclaim their good credit?
