No. They don't care. They don't have to pay for our gas.
Uber has already said in print that driving in Los Angeles is not worth it and that is why they lowered the rates. If you choose to drive in LA then it is your choice as a independent contractor.

They raised prices on pax and decreased driver's pay ever since gas prices started to climb last month.

As gas prices go up demand grows due to passengers getting cheaper rides rather than driving their own cars. This is science, I didn’t make that up.
How can that possibly be? I hope you were the only rider and the driver got paid the $2.62 minimum.

Nope. Lyft loses if he was the only rider. Drivers get a $2.62 minimum, sharted or regular.
