? Does Uber contact drivers & leave a VM to call rider back about lost item?

I’ve heard that riders are told by Uber support chat that they’ll contact drivers to ask if they’ve found items they left behind on accident- if they don’t get ahold of the driver, then Uber leaves a voicemail including the rider’s phone # and asks the driver to contact the rider back to resolve the issue. Is this true?

Would not call a rider who allegedly left something after a ride with my personal phone. If person left something and they were your last ride for the day and you didn't notice it and didn't drive for the next couple days, hmmm. If it was a phone, again, assuming you discovered it, someone will call that number and you can answer their phone and maybe make arrangements to return it. Or take to police station.
Yes support will call you and leave a message if you don't answer

me too...
I used to always find passengers' lost items and return them, until one time I drove an hour to return a phone to its owner. I knocked on the door of his apartment, handed him the phone, and he just took it and then slammed the door shut. No thanks given.

Then I contacted UBER, hoping to receive the rumored $15 reward. However, UBER kept asking me for the detailed specifics of returning the phone, over and over again.

In the end, I gave up on the claim, and then I never returned anything ever again, including phones, keys, and wallets. I would find a soft patch of grass and just throw them out of the car window.

Just like that.

Always take pictures of the item before you hand it over to anybody.

There's been times when I've been nice enough to return the phone and they just take it and walk away with no thank you monetarily wise for my time.

So I just fire up the app, go back to the ride that is associated with that phone, upload the pictures, fill out the needed information, and then fill out the rest of the form saying that I return the phone to the person.

I've never had a problem and I've always got paid with that return fee.

All “lost” items end up in the trash.
All Uber “support” messages end up in the deletion file.

If you are expecting to receive the Uber's lost item return fee, you have to return the item using Uber's return system, how did you think you could directly deal with the customer give them their phone and then turn around and collect from uber, that should be just common sense.

You don't have common sense, of course I used Uber's system to return, I submitted a pickup report and got the user's return address in the report, otherwise how would I know that the user lived in that apartment. But after I told uber in the system that i returned the phone, uber just replied over and over asking me to provide the details of returning the phone.

I am not a mind reader, there's nowhere above where you said you contacted Uber first, and as for your comment about how would you know where to deliver it, in the process of making the claim Uber gives you the contact information for the customer, but if you actually had used the system you would know this.
These rich corporate golfer passengers who didn’t tip and were condescending D bags left some for once amazing designer shades last week. Their company threw them in a goody bag and they were actually boasting about them being affordable because they laid off 15k workers. Always brings a smile to my face seeing how good they look on my wife’s face. Priceless compared to $15 minus gas minus hour’s pay minus stress minus time minus more rides. Genuinely one of the best tips I’ve received besides $100 bills or a gram of weed.
Oh gawd.
Not the "lost item'' thing again.

1) Drop it in a mailbox.
2) Answer the ping.

That IS better than littering, potentially. However it’s actually a federal offense to open just any mailbox, just a fun fact. Unless I haven’t been understanding if you mean the post office. Kinda funny but I can also picture shootin at someone on account of sensitive documents like some forms of ID theft start at strangers rummaging through ur mailbox so maybe not the best idea ever. I liked that thread the other day where someone gave a homeless person pax’s phone in exchange for a toothless grin.

So, it's not that you can read minds, it's just that you lack common sense.

Uber does not give you the driver the address of the passenger, the passenger contacts you or you contact the passenger and you exchange information, you are a complete fraud and a total liar.

ubet will not give you the address, but he will forward the message of the passenger to you. So you can get the address of the passenger, as long as the passenger is willing to provide it. So you are an idiot.
