Anyone use the tip box? Do pax put tip in it?

Yes, it works, but put a car charger out on it as a courtesy. The biggest impact the tip box has is to simply remind the tipping type it's alright. You won't make nontippers tip, but you will pull in more income from the generous people.

I dunno, I got a ride to the Bart from a guy in Walnut Creek with the tip box. I always tip the Uber driver $3 on my short little 1.5 mile ride to the Bart. This guy had a tip box and it sucked all the joy right out of tipping. Maybe I'm just weird. It probably equates to more money but can't it get you deactivated pretty easily if some A-hole Uber employee rides with you and wants to be a jerk?
