Do you take pax through the drive thru?

I don't allow food or drinks in my car period but I hear all the time how some other Uber driver took them through the drive through.
I am curious why anyone would do this? You are not making any money waiting in a drive thru, they are not going to tip you and your car is going to stink the rest of your day...

Sure, why not, usually they get me something too. Without tips we have to take whatever we can get, and of course there is the whopping $0.15/min we get just for waiting, putting that in my 401K.

.15 per minutes is 9/hour....that's about what I make in an hour of online (no surges), so it works out about the same....that's depressing.

True, Uber should pay us for every minute we are online as base pay, that would make this gig almost worth it, almost.
I do not do drive thru either. Had a group one time freak out because I said no.

Left me a bad rating because of it. ..

Wow! I guess we do things a lot differently I average around $25 an hour, and avoid surges like the plague.

The way I see it, the honest to god only reason to ever do it is if your ratings need a boost. Basically never do it otherwise, you are NOT getting paid for it!

I'll do it if there's not a line. If there's a line, I'm not sitting in line for 30 minutes waiting to order and then waiting to get the food. Usually get this request after the 2am rush. I tell them in advance "Sir/Ma'am, I'll be happy to take you, but if there's a line, I'll have to drop you and complete the ride and you can ping back when you've gotten your order". They usually change their mind at that point.

I only do drive through if it's surge/ xl. If it is not however I say no. I did this time. Plus they bought me food. Good deal.

Thats how I get my Dinner almost every night. Just explain that you don't get paid for wait time so unless theres something in it for you, your losing money waiting on their food. I like the idea of "if theres a line re-ping me". I sat at Whataburger for 20 minutes the other evening.

I have pax call for a ride and all they want to do is hit the drive thru, there and back. Some of these trips aren't that short, either. This happens at all hours, but more often late at night. Some buy me food, some don't. Some tip, some don't. Some end up paying $250 to clean my car after they make a mess. I warn them "Dallas has potholes" but they all think they won't spill. All around, it pays to keep customers happy, even when some are stingy pikers that don't buy me a burger, or skimp on the gratuity.

If I did this full-time, I'd probably never have to buy food. Some nights, I could eat a half-dozen meals at Whataburger, if I accepted every offer. Ladies ask me to join them for dinner last Friday. I almost accepted. Almost. She gave me a $5 tip anyway.

The only thing I ask is that they don't eat tacos in my back seat. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, fails to make a mess eating tacos while bouncing through Dallas potholes.
