Hi, I've two issues(question) about DMV and TLC, so please share your best knowledge.

1) My DMV reg will expire on 05/31, if I pay now online, will the new reg start counting after my old one expire or it will effect right now.
2) My TLC inspection will expire on 06/21, and I'll be unavailable that time. So If I just pay and get the inspection date, can someone else can do the inspection or it need to be the owner only?

Hi, I know for sure the new DMV inspection will start once your old one expire even if you pay now. But the TLC one, I think you need to be there in person, if I am not mistaken, the guy doing your car inspection will ask for your driver license and car registration once you enter the garage, I hope I am wrong on this one, so you don't have to worry about it in case you're not available.

Anyone could take your for TLC inspection all they need is thier dmv license and the appointment letter. Any doubts call the tlc

I just did both and my expiration dates were almost the same as like yours.
I paid both in early April and I got the new DMV registration and got the inspection date immediately. The car is under my husbands name but i was able to get tlc inspection. Just need driver’s license who drive that car that day and appointment confirmation letter. You can do it asap. You may able to do it. New expiration date is calculated from ur old expiration date.

Really appreciate your feedback and advise.
I paid both DMV & TLC in advance and 4 days after I learned, TLC also need me to email my registration and Insurance copy along with the payment. So just emailed them and waiting for the inspectection date.

If you dmv registration online they give you a temp you can print/email and they mail it to you

My nys inspection is ended last month and end of this month i have appointment for tlc inspection. Do i need to renew my nys inspection before i go to the tlc inspection appointment?

Yes, you need to do your nys inspection before you go for TLC inspection. Otherwise they will fail you and you'll need to come back after getting nys inspection.

I hear there is a fine for not having a 4 month inspection at TLC inspection so be warned $100? Better to miss and reschedule.
