Do Uber drivers receive discounts on rides they need themselves (for example, if we want to park at a concert venue but want a personal ride to a nearby restaurant)?
That money would come out of the drivers pocket most likely for what is a short nonsense ride. Why would anyone want to do that to another driver to get a discount on what's a cheap fare anyway? Even on a longer ride why would a driver want to do it at a discount and lose out on another full fare?

Okay. Thanks, everyone. I'm brand-new to this, and I didn't know if Uber corporate provided a discount to us as a benefit. It was never my intention to sort-change a fellow driver.

I apologize for the confusion and frustration that I've caused.

I wondered the same thing. I recently took my first Uber rides as a passenger. Mountlake Terrace to King St station in Seattle. Cost me $34 (which I thought was a lot.) Cause as a driver for same time/distance, I never made that much. Would have been nice to get a discount. I did tip my drivers though.

Any good side gigs going around where we can make extra money off the passengers?
Ideas include selling anything that is small and expensive like perfume, jewelry, costume jewelry may work too. Don't try to sell cheap stuff that other drivers give out as freebies like water, candy and gum. You can talk about your day job during the ride and if there is any interest then give out business cards. And of course, there's always Uber's own referral cards.
