Read this Fort Worth Star Telegram article tonight and interesting to see how the places I've picked up at are ranked.

I'm curious if they are counting retail or wholesale price of alcohol sold. It may say it in the article, but I'm not a Link clicker. But, if it is Retail, I'm not surprised. Happiest Hour, the Omni, Joule and Anatole are all among the highest priced drinks I've ever seen. The real props goes to Billy Bob's and Joe T.'s, as their prices are average.

If that is wholesale price, then holy crap!

I looked up the data from the Texas Comptroller's website. The rankings are based on gross alcohol sales. Comptroller data has the Mixed Beverage Gross Receipts Tax amount, which divided by 6.7% gives the Gross Receipts amount.

I just thought the data is interesting because gross sales is a factor of drink prices and attendance. Smaller venues high on the list have higher drink prices and stadiums, well they just speak for themselves. Funny you mention Billy Bob's and Joe T's as they have a very high attendance but I would have thought they'd be higher on the list. Good for you for reading between the lines to determine drink prices :)

The Gaylord Texas is huge and has events and a large number of guests year round, so no surprise it's #1.
