Well... All I have to say is sadly that is pretty accurate. Any uberx drivers agree??? Were paid lower than any other city while our roads are the worst in the country.

Yeppers , that is very Pathetic data. Uberx non surge, isn't worth the time. Uber rates are too low, and new drivers getting wham with 28% commission by Uber.

Uber likes to play "limbo" and see how low the drivers will go. No risk, all profit, what's not to understand about Uber's business model!?

Note: that article also assumed 1.75 per gallon for gas, and 7 cents per mile for gas use. I'm not sure where you can get gas for $1.75 per gallon, might be worth a trip there!

Story picked up by Drudge. Here it comes.
Yea after true expenses most drivers probably average closer to $6 hourly.

If it makes you feel any better, the majority of Uber drivers in most markets are not making that much more than Detroit.

Take San Diego for example, the 4th most expensive city in the US where gas prices right now are between $ 3.00 to 3.50 / gallon, the minimum fare after the Uber cuts comes to $ 3.20
The minimum fare in Detroit for Uber X is $ 6.30 including $ 2.30 booking fee, while in San Diego it is $ 5.75 including $ 1.75 booking fee.
So all and all in both markets drivers get the same $ 3.20 after completing a minimum fare

And if you consider that 9 trips out of 10 are minimum fare these days ... or not that much more, and Surge is now forever gone it seems ---You can just imagine, in a city like San Diego where an average studio ranges between $ 1200.00 to $ 1500.00 / month, how drivers are hurting just as much if not more!

Uber stuck it to us hard here in Michigan. We have some demand, but extremely low pay. No way could Uber driving be your primary income. You would starve.
