Has anyone taken advantage of the new destination filter that went into effect on September 1st? This has really made a huge difference for me. I am only a very part-time driver, and I have a daily M-F 9-5 job. I commute a little over 20 miles to work each day, and 20 miles to go back each night. With the new feature, you are allowed 2 destination trips per day.

So, when I leave my house in the morning to commute to work, I enter the destination of my office, and Uber tries to match me with a PAX that is on my route and headed to roughly the same place. This is fantastic. It's a commute that I already was going to take, so the gas and wear and tear on the car are non-factors. Plus, even if I never get matched with a PAX, the entire commute becomes tax deductible since I'm on the clock for Uber. If I do get matched, then I make decent money that is pure profit since there is no overhead on a trip I was already going to take.

I've only used this feature about 5 days now, and I've been matched 3 times on the commute to work, and 2 times on the commute back. That's over $100 for driving a few trips in a week that I already was going to take, and the entire mileage for my commute to work can now be deducted.

This is a pretty good deal.
In theory I love the idea but it has not worked out well for me. Every time I have used it matched me very quickly but they were all very short rides and not really towards my destination. Most of the time I do it when I am leaving Boston heading home. Each time I had a pick up close to where I was and then the drop off was in downtown Boston less than 2 miles from where I was. I went from the Seaport to the Liberty Hotel and other similar rides.
