Desperate for Black Car Advice

I drove Uber black/suv for limo company. They didn't have enough work so we used the Uber app. This was 10 years ago and the rates were $3.95/mile for black and $4.20/mile for suv. I think it's a lot lower now? I would get up at 3:30am each day, get the vehicle, and head to the Panera Bread parking lot in Needham. And wait. From there it was at least $100 to Logan. One of the reason I got jobs was that there weren't many other drivers out there. Some people told me that if there were an Uber X they'd take that. I would drop at Logan and drive straight back to Panera. If I got that far. As the morning progressed I'd change my parking spot to the Dunkin Donut on Washington St in Newton. From there I'd work the morning rush into the city. There are people who prefer black cars or suv cars. There were days I booked $500 by 10am. I had to split that with the limo company.

Weeknights I'd work the financial district. Parking on Franklin St. Sometimes the restaurant areas like the south end. Of course I could switch the app to accept Uber X if it got too slow.

I never worked Logan unless it was a scheduled pickup as part of the limo operation. I dropped off and returned to the city.

Friday and Saturday nights you can get groups going into Boston from the 128 area. Burlington is usually good to work. So is Winter St area of Waltham with all the hotels. Check out the breakfast buffets. I found it was all about timing and location.

I don't know but I think it may be harder to do black/suv now.
