No way I would ever accept a sealed box with unknown contents. You did the right thing.

I've transported three packages during my entire Uber "career" since November 2014.

First was a small envelope with a key.

Second was a small can of specialty paint I picked up from a store owner downtown.

The last one was a small black box with a label maker from one elderly gentleman to another.

First was a short trip $5.

Last two were good long trips worth of $15-20 each.

I'm not delivering shit. Sealed box or opened.
What's your angle on this? Is there any logical reason, or you are just not doing this on some principal?

Ok, I hear you.

All legitimate reasons, makes sense.

I totally agree. As I mentioned earlier - all three times that I've transported a package, it was open and the contents was clearly seen.

Of course, the envelope with the key could be dipped in LSD :D, the paint in the can I picked up from the store owner and delivered to an old lady could be diluted with cocaine and the label maker I delivered from a 70 year old man to a 70 year old man could be a concealed weapon.

But, truth to be told, I'm just not seeing a drug dealer giving someone their stash to deliver. Too much risk. I mean delivering drugs themselves is one thing, but this way? Very unlikely. Otherwise we would have heard about a flurry of deliveries happening in Uber here. Especially those working evening and night hours (like myself). And having 3 deliveries made in over 1600 trips over 1.5 years pretty much speaks about the delivery demand for itself.

That being said, of course, it's your discretion. And I advice to take your time to decide if you are doing it or not.
