95% sure the algorithm isn't legit and you definitely don't get paired with the closest rider. They have run the metrics on what hourly earnings will keep most of the drivers with them.

My rides have been getting worse and worse since I got put on their naughty list for skipping too many rides (initially it was 4 mins offline if I skipped three rides in a row and now they made it 30mins after I was out of the state for three weeks and didn't do any rides for them) Sorry 18-22minute uber pool pickups I simply can't do. I've been in the middle of massive bright red zones and then and only then they may throw me a 1.6-1.8 bone and its usually an uber pool request.

Ive also been warned about cancellations, so only recently have I made excuses to the riders to please cancel for me.

I think the only reason I haven't been deactivated is because my rating is 4.90 and I've done 964 rides in 11 weeks or so.

Does anybody else notice they start getting horrible rides after their acceptance percentage goes down?

Unfortunately I am in a desperate situation but God willing I will soon be out of. Then, I'm done with uber forever. Incredibly shady things going on with this company.

I had the app not accept rides this weekend during the incentive hours, one period my acceptance rating was an 89% and the other period 88%, the app said accepting the trip the timer in the background would run to zero, then back to home screen with no ride. I found it odd this was happening when I needed the rides the most. It took me 3 half hour phone calls to resolve this. Shady indeed.

I saw bright red in Santa Cruz. Was it there? I sit through 2.8 and above and will get 1.2-1.4 uber pool requests constantly or even no surge requests 18-22 minutes away

So what about all the times I got pinged for a passenger on the same block or a block or two away?

While I do not doubt that Uber does shady business comma we always have to look at both sides of the coin.

For example, I think the NBA draft is definitely rigged. I think the worst team the previous season has like a 23% chance of getting the top pick. But they also have a 77% chance of not getting it..so even if they have the best odds of winning, the odds are still against them.

The point is, we may get requests from 10 minutes away but just remember that it is an app and there are glitches..
