I get a Lyft ride and arrive. I'll look at where it's going and it's a ride I'd be like to have. It's fairly long and taking me to a good area.
Out of the house come three people. One is a woman who looks pale and looks like death warmed over. She's taking a little baby steps and looks like death warmed over. The other two are wearing masks. Death warmed over slides across and sits in the seat. She has trouble getting in and I ask her if she's going to be OK. She emphatically says yes and says "I don't have the virus". Well that's good enough for me! Why would someone lie about something like that. Besides I'm pretty sure she has a full testing lab in her house and would know that kind of thing.
One of the other passengers hands her a plastic bag which is open with the top row down to make it into a vomit bag.
I ask "Are you going to be sick?" Death warmed over emphatically says "No". The pax who handed her the bag says "A little".
I am mediately say "I don't want this ride. I'm not taking this ride". They pile out and one of the passengers says OK I'll have to drive her. I guess they didn't want the virus vomit in their own vehicle.
I wait the timer and collect the cancellation fee.
I can't believe the kind of crap people people pull and think they're going to get away with in a rideshare.
And just so you know I'm very compassionate and tolerant for people that are ill or handicapped.
My previous passenger was an elderly gentleman that I picked up at a dialysis center. He had a mask on. He's clearly in the high risk group. When I dropped him off at the old folks home I stayed and waited so I could make sure he got into the door as he looked a little unstable. Has he fallen I would've provided assistance.
