Drivers realize that you would like the driver to have aux cord, chargers, mints, candy, gum and water for pax.
here is the problem which you are aware of:
1. When you first came to NYC, Uber office used to provide free mints to drivers. Why did this stop? when we go to office now, you offer drivers nothing for free.
why should drivers offer 'free' anything to pax?
2. When you first came to NYC, drivers were well compensated. Your fee's were a lot less, but you still made money. Your original CEO Travis, decided to get greedy, and decided to create a 'hostile' workplace with his drivers. Before that happened, drivers instinctively provided free amenities to pax, AGAIN, BECAUSE WE WERE WELL COMPENSATED!
3. Why not give drivers your own 'gift card' each month to be used to purchase these items for your pax? $80/month would be great. That's $20/week for driver to provide freebees to your riders. You could mail them to us.
4. Why have you still not learned that ratings are meaningless to drivers? we know that you know that you have a driver shortage/churn problem. The more 'career' drivers you falsely deactivate, how many new inexperienced drivers must you 'churn' through to get a driver who actually knows how to drive with excellent customer service?
4. Why have you not learned that your 'riders' (as you call them), ratings are getting lower and lower and veteran drivers WILL NOT PICK UP A PROBLEM PAX! Your rating scheme is backfiring on you and stunting your growth. You have created an adversarial relationship between your riders and your drivers. The drivers are slowly understanding this, and the pay is so low, deactivation is of no concern now.
P.S. i urge you to push back on the so called 'Diaz Bill' a sudden huge loss of drivers will cripple your growth.
