Fellow Uber DRIVERS,

WORDS - BEST TOOL TO DEFUSE DIFFICULT PASSENGER - NOT FORCE

In the close confines of a car, with any type of protection item (mace, pepper spray, stun gun) you risk the perpetrator taking the protection device using it on you the driver. Not to mention the over spray on the driver or the car.

Use WORDS and a AUTHORITARIAN TONE when dealing with difficult situations.
In any problem situation, Give riders a 30 second warning to cease inappropriate or improper behavior. Suggesting in the warning: end the ride, require them to exit car, and call the local police.
With no change in behavior, after 30 seconds pull over, end the ride, dial 911 with the speaker phone on and start taking a video. Stay in your locked car.

Once they are out of the car, tell them you will stay there until a new Uber car arrives.
When their new Uber ride arrives they typically realize the driver means business and they settled down.
Tell their new Uber driver they are a problem and let the new driver access the problem and decide how to proceed.

Yes, we get a 1 star rating but report them to Uber and suggest their account be deactivate so this will not happen again.

Sorry, but if I have to kick someone out of my car, their next ride will be sitting on their hands in the back seat of a police car.
