Does anybody happen to have a screen shot of what happens when a Paxiot tries to call a driver that has deaf / Hard hearing turned on?

Paxiots try to call me all the time, even if respond with txt saying I'm Deaf. Both apps say Paxiots are told when they try to call.

And they will call repeatedly. I am just curious if dealing with idiot savant, moron, or a genius that tries to go in through the out door.

I took a ride once where the driver had that designation. It was printed next to the driver picture. I didn't try to call but I'm betting uber doesn't have a pop-up that says that. If pax don't pay attention to driver then they are clueless. Sorry that happens to you.

Eh, it doesn't really bother me. Paxiots are surprised when I talk to them inside though.

I thought you couldn't hear!?
I have hearing aides.
Don't they work with your phone?
Phone is too far away in the mount.
What does that matter?
They are T-Coil. Has to be within 20 inches.
Do you know Sign Language? (I love this one, you know what's coming)
{Raise hand with 5 fingers, slowly lower outside 4}. That's about all I know.

Usually I have them laughing, the ones that don't I tell it's rude to ask questions about a person's disability.

They used to mention it and disable phone calls, text only. Now they make driver's select an option that will do the same again but I wonder if it might limit pings so have left it off. Ok so far, not deaf, just bad tinnitus.

They don't even notice the wrong car, wrong color of car and huge driver over 140 Lb in weight and one got killed in SC. How could they even notice small icon/letter in the app?

It’s stupid because I don’t even have the option to text the pax. They can text me but these fools choose to call me most of the time, so I just vocalize loudly “IM DEAF PLEASE TEXT”, hope they understand and then I hang up. When I went to reactivate my driver app the girl told me I have to call ahead and notify my passenger that I have a service dog.

Call ahead. CALL. AHEAD. CALL???????? Am I supposed to flap my hands against the phone so they understand ASL???? Thefuq??? That is not fair or accessible to me, so fuq em I just show up with my dog and ask “have service dog, is ok?” And everyone gives me the thumbs up. I also have a sign that I give the pax saying they can give my dog a head pat or two, and that since I’m deaf they can tap me on the shoulder if they need something. If Lyft has a problem with that, then they need to reinitiate Driver2Pax texting. It’s not cool that I basically have no way of contacting my pax unless they text me first, which has only happened twice now.

I also have only had one issue with a passenger not being cool with my service dog, and that was my bad since I hadn’t vacuumed the back well enough. No issues as a DRIVER, but today I was the passenger and the driver not only tried to refuse me because I’m not making my service dog sit on the floor, but started taking really sharp turns and hurt my service dog in the process after she kept getting thrown into the doors. He’s banned from driving, and I hope he enjoys unemployment as much as I enjoy knowing his day was just ruined. Don’t. Hurt. My. Service. Dog.

Sorry about your dog. Why can't she sit in the floorboard where it's safer? I ask my pax with service animals to sit their dog in the floorboard. Most of the time they automatically do it. I've never had anyone refuse. I don't let dogs walk all over my seats. Those paws have been in all kinds of stuff all day. Just like a pair of shoes.

Following.

May 20 2019 Lyft forced an app upgrade on me which took away my ability to telephone, I can now only text. But passengers can still call me.

I'm interested to see the screenshot too for...use elsewhere.

I've had pax that were too large for the seat belts. The belt was extended all the way and they could not get the thing buckled. I have to tell them if they don't buckle I cannot take them. They get very, very upset. I don't have a compact car either. I have a sedan size car.

The technology is so easy it's causing people to lose their common sense. That's why they don't pay attention. The technology tells them what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. They don't have to think anymore for themselves.

Yes, but that's not at 140 lbs. A 140 lb man is pretty lean, and below-average in height, if he's fit and not underweight.

Did a lift ride yesterday, decided to play the role of Pax. Current pax app is woefully incomplete. Only details I could get was driver pic, plate number, vehicle info etc. Nothing else listed in driver profile. It was a pleasant ride overall. Very easy to converse from back seat despite the h. aids in use. Biggest conclusion is that my vehicle must be as aerodynamic as a brick...lot of external wind noise.

I guess I will have to begin giving pax 2nd benefit of a doubt because there is so little information presented. Contacted Lyft support, and rider side is just as worthless as driver side. Got a $10 credit for asking how to get more info on a driver, and complaining when was told "you cant".

@krbjmpr - woefully off topic here but have you listened to comedian D J Demers? My son wears hearing aids and loves this comedian. He is hysterically spot on with growing up with a hearing loss and wearing hearing aids.

Sorry for the drift.
