This is my reply to uber texting/emailing me warnings of deactivation if I keep cancelling rides.

Ps. Yes, I understand they are referring to cancelling rides AFTER I accept them but it was an opportunity for me to complain about getting 20 minute pings lol.

I've had a bunch of the 20-25 min away pings lately!!! No point in driving that far to make just a couple bucks they should know that but they don't care.

It's a proven fact.. Uber doesn't care about us! Continually lowering rates, encouraging passengers not to tip, deactivating accounts for cancelling trips/not accepting enough pings, making your driver rating almost seem more important than being a profitable "partner".. It's all complete bs. Screw güber

I totally agree with everything said here but, why would you accept a 20 minute ping in the first place? Do you not vet each ping? The first thing I look at is the distance and then the rating. If neither are acceptable I don't take the ride.

Oh I definitely didn't accept that ping haha that's why I noted the 'ps' in my original post. The email was about canceling trips but that screenshot was from a ping that I didn't accept.

Basically, I've been canceling riders that aren't at the pin destination after 5 mins so I can get my $3.75 and move on to my next ride. With how low rates are and the lack of surges I don't have the patience to wait for pax like I did in the past. It's sad that a cancelled ride is more than a 10-12 minute ride but you better believe I'm gonna pocket on those opportunities as much as I can

We've been getting those emails and txt's weekly, usually on a Monday morning, for about 6 months already. Not only that, lately, after not accepting several trips in a row, the app will ask you for a selfie before you can continue driving, a supposed security check, I see it more as a privacy invasion. One of my buddies keeps taking a selfie of his middle finger and it goes through, but I haven't been successful, the app rejects the middle finger and it doesn't go through until I take an actual selfie.
