Ever been in Somalia?
Ever experience the wretched conditions in areas like Adams Morgan or it's surrounding areas like the Logan Circle (14th and U to be exact), Atlas District, or the southern part of Dupont Circle (where Connecticut Ave is).

You're not a true Uber driver if you haven't had complaints and situations from these areas.

(Situation) False accusation from U st pax trying to get free ride? (Complaint) Is that it? Thats how you become True Uber Driver? Then i became True Uber Driver long time ago. Or is there other requirements?

Picked ups Lyft from DCA-$29+- Uber was quoting me $54. Diver was from Mongolia. Seemed like a nice enough chap. Didn't speak any English though. What should one expect from a $30 ride.
Caught a 4.91 driver uberx for 21.00 dca to Brookland cu....n.e. Real nice guy. Sent him a text telling him I'm a driver and I tip. Tipped him 10.00. 30 dollar ride .

It was his full time gig ...he was paying his mortgage.

He really appreciated me.

It's not a 3rd world city because of him, or an immigrant driver. It's a third world country because the cost of living is so high that too many people are struggling after they work their asses off.

There is always some jobs that are starter jobs and pay extremely low wages. That is not to say that the work is easy only not something that one is expected to make a career out of. Taxi driving used to be a middle class job now with uber that is no longer the case. It will take time for people to adjust to the changing reality and adjust their expectations from taxi compensation.

I feel that the US has admitted too many people from 3rd world countries and if we don’t figure out a way to limit it, we will absolutely become a 3rd world country.

Anyone who has traveled to Japan understands how far behind we are in terms of infrastructure, security and general competence.

Even if we do not admit them we are competing with them and they do have an impact on us regardless if they are here or in some other country. When factories shut down and start shipping product out of the country for processing just to ship the processed product back for consumption at a lower price than could be achieved locally it is easy to see how the connected world levels everyone over time.

Yah I know this. But still. I don't want to see our country overrun, or feel weird playing Bruce Springsteen in public. Or one year tuning in to the super bowl with this as the halftime show:

Meaning absolutely no disrespect, all my East African pax have been 5 Star pax.

I am probably gonna get flamed.

If you feel weird playing your music in public... that's just straight up stupid. Why can't you play whatever you like? Shoot, I'll play Leonard Bernstein's Mass down the middle of 14th Street and follow it up with Metallica's Nothing Really Matters. And then play Bob Marley right behind that. Who gives a flying fig what others think?
