Almost bagged me a jogger this morning while on a trip. Approaching surface street intersection, light is red, all lanes are backed up several cars, but the right turn lane, which I'm in, is wide open, just me in it. There's cars, vans, SUV's, pickups, box trucks all in the backed up lanes. So visibility is poor. I'm slowing as I get close, when out of nowhere a f'ing idiot looking like he's out jogging, runs through the stopped vehicles, about 4 cars back of the intersection of course, and RIGHT in front of me. I lock up the brakes, he locks up in the middle of the lane directly in front of me, eyes WIDE open at the sight of my car about to crush his stupid ass. I'd estimate there was about 4' or so between him and my bumper when I was at a full stop. Good thing for him I have good brakes. I think I saw a turd drop out of his shorts just then and piss running down his legs.

Of course no one crosses streets here AT the intersection, but JFC, LOOK BEFORE YOU JUMP OUT FROM BETWEEN CARS!!!

BTW, I also got rear-ended at the end of the exit ramp at southbound 101 and Bell Rd on Tuesday. I'm front of the line, waiting for cars to clear so I can turn right. Dumbass in a GMC truck isn't paying attention and lets his truck roll sort of hard into my car. Busts up the bumper cover in a few places, but no apparent structural damage. He DID have insurance at least.

Anyone else have fun accident stories this week? :banghead:

I was on the US 60 West bound and saw a semi carry debris that was completely on fire. Flames everywhere in the trailer and ashes flying out. He pulled over on the Crismon exit. First time seeing that.

Back in D.C. area joggers were a constant nuisance but by far the biggest annoyances were bicyclists.

ESPECIALLY in downtown D.C.

Imaging the entitlement of a Karen wearing a tennis visor with a ponytail* in an Audi SUV in Kierland or Trevor in dad's Tesla on 2 wheels.

THAT was bicyclists.

I still get triggered thinking about them...

Just curious? Did you just exchange information? I've wondered what I should do in such circumstances.

Picked up a guy recently who earlier in the day got rear-ended on Scottsdale Rd. Stopped in traffic he sees this young gal flying along behind him but nothing he could do. He thought he was fine but later on felt a little goofy and got checked out at Mayo, where I picked him up.

Try to have a cop come. Police report is best IF you can get one to show and write one up.

Aside from that I would take pictures of the damage and scene.

Also take a picture of his license and insurance info.

We exchanged info, ins lic etc, and I took pictures. THIS particular situation was very cut and dried. I was dead stopped at the end of the off ramp waiting for traffic to clear so I could turn right on Bell. He came up behind me and I believe he simply stopped watching how close he was getting, and bumped me but NOT hard at all, but hard enough to crack the flimsy bumper cover they put on vehicles these days. I also believe that technically the police should be called, but this was not a complicated accident scene. His ins claims rep did ask if cops were called, I said nope, it didn't seem necessary. The ODD thing about that conversation was that she stated they had not yet determined responsibility, after talking to THEIR OWN insured driver! So yeah I wonder what kind of BS he tried to tell them. I made sure they knew there was absolutely no one at fault besides their driver, and after a couple minutes on the phone they told me right there that they were going to cover the loss. I'm also asking for lost earnings and have submitted an earnings statement. She had to kick that request upstairs for approval, which I'm waiting for still. Will be po'd if they refuse to pay that. Should be worth a couple days earnings, from prior experience with this repair.
