So the other day an ignorant, arrogant, self righteous dude came here bragging about an app he created to report drivers who block bike lanes. Although this is taking it too far I agree we shouldnt block lanes, it is the law. But I also feel that most cyclists are arrogant as well.
why not start a thread that we can show the city that cyclist should be accountable as well? They should go for a license and mandatory cyclist safety education. There can be some revenue for the city alone here as well as safer place to drive. Let's face it, cycling in New York City is dangerous. It's not the an open field. They have rules that they most follow but there is no way for us to help enforce them for a safer NYC. It should be a privilege to ride a bike in NYC. I never once woke up thinking , " ahh what a great day to hit a cyclist." None of us do, it happens when people don't follow the rules.
Can we compile a bunch of videos and post it in the DOT and mayors twitter? #CyclistAccountable
