Customer Complaints

On 6 occasions over the last few days have heard customers complaining that drivers accepting jobs and then phoning up rider to ask where they are going. If ride does not suit the driver they are cancelling and charging the customer a 'no show' fee.

Get a grip guys as this will kill Uber. If you don't want the work drive for someone else!
Too many drivers surviving on cancellation fees alone.

This problem would be solved world wide if uber 1)required rides to enter a destination when requesting. 2) told drivers of the destination in the ping.

In my other business I would *never* accept a scope of work that said "arrive on site and we'll tell you what we are doing"

But drivers know the system when they sign up.
If you don't like not knowing where you are going up front the don't work for Uber.
Drivers 'cherry picking' jobs screwing everyone else over.

,,GETTING THE DIRECTION IS NO GOOD AS A BUSINESS MODEL.Everyone will be cherry picking ,you will turn into Taxi drivers, lol

Computer cab became the biggest Taxi Circuit because it gave every job AD so they were all covered.

This has happened to me once, UberBlack even with a $25 min fare! 'Need Help > Report An Issue > Issue With Driver'.
If one driver cancels, it should go to the next, like most other companies. Why Uber don't do this is beyond me, but I do agree that pax should be forced to enter the destination before booking, as it can then be passed around by the computer until a driver accepts it.

i have done this a few times but i always press do not charge ride i havent done this for the last 2 months. why do u think u never get a 2.5 x job to oxford etc because no one cancells a good job all the jobs u get are 2.5 x going from mayfair to knightsbridge 10.50£
and i agree with dubs if uber had a fair price no one would do shit like this go se and u are coming back empty
heathrow to tooting 36£ heathrow all the way to greenwich and even further down 46£ minus 4£ parking fee its not worth it for anyone if drivers are not happy they will destroy uber and uber is not realising that.

It's down to the tfl regulations.
We all need to put some pressure on tfl to regulate uber.
We must need a destination of job before we accept it.
its dangerous because if u know the destination then atleast u can have a look at the map whilst u are waiting for the passenger to arrive

Wow D1991 ,that is ridiculous, honestly it is isnt it. Travis 's disruptive technology dream is destroying the whole Taxi and PH industry the only winner is the passenger
Let's keep it real, I've been involved in this so called ph industry for more times on then off since 1987, and the system of traditional minicab firms being permitted to take a booking and then passing it onto the driver is a very inefficient system and relies wholly on driver explotation, Uber if anything has liberated these drivers, but with continual rate drops it has now going down the same route and drivers will react to that eventually, and once they do, it's always for good and no company ever recovers from that

I remember when AL allowed us to cancel cash booking ourselves but didn't last long cos drivers kept cancelling short journeys or just cancel without any effert to make contact with pax. I believe that only pax should be able to cancel booking and if drivers do not wish to do any short or account (AL case) jobs, they should log out hence why Uber is recruiting more drivers. Once you are able to cover jobs, there will be no need to surge at all.
voodoman tfl and the taxi unions ruined it the poor private hire driver takes what ever comes his way most of the time , what tfl should of done is scrapped private hire made the knowledge abit easier and covered all the major road networks made sure cars where available even in zone 6 and put a cap with a waiting list thats what it takes to get the trade in order.
