Go to pickup address. She’s not there.

Unlike some I do like to go above and beyond to find people and don’t WANT to shuffle, so I call after a minute.

Some Hispanic woman who barely speaks any English. I can’t understwnd. She’s telling me the name of some restaurant she’s at. I don’t know where that is. I tell her very clearly I’m at her pickup point and remind her where that is. She says ok and hangs up

3 min later (so 4 min into the clock - uberx)

Now an entitled white ***** calls me

“Hi we’re actually on 14th and blah blah. Can you make a left and come get us here?”

No, there’s traffic there. I’m at the place you requested the ride.

“Oh, you can’t just come like a few hundred feet?”

Where are you headed?

“Metro center”. Ie I make 3.75 on this trip

No. I’m where you’re supposed to be.

“You know what, if you can’t just come around the block, why don’t you just cancel? I’ll make sure to tell uber about this.”

You know how much I make on this trip??

“That’s Uber’s problem that’s not my problem. Why can’t you just come get us?”

Because I’ve been waiting 4 minutes already and I’m not moving

“Ok I’ll make sure to tell uber about this, blah blah blah some other entitled bullshit why can’t you drive into traffic and spend 8 min picking me up for a $3 fare nonsense”

I snapped. I said WHY DONT YOU JUST WALK 50 ****ING FEET?? Good luck with that!!

I was half expecting an Uber urgent complaint or whatever to come in but drove hours more and didn’t hear anything

Yes I know I shouldn’t have cussed at her and it wasn’t worth it but she is everything that’s wrong w entitled shitty pax and I let her have it

I did call uber as soon as I finished tonight to try to get ahead of it and put in a report about her and how insulting and obnoxious she was being and that she was gonna put in a false report about something cuz she was mad I wouldn’t drive to another place to get her lol

So if the pax complained that you cussed at them, and you tell Uber you didn't, ummm.....

1/100 the call is from a little old lady who has never seen Uber before,
just booked the ride 10 seconds ago, and isn't sure how it worked.
Are you really coming? Do you have the address?
My grand daughter put this Uber thing on my phone!
I've never been in a big city before!

The other 99/100 calls are T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
Mostly of the "Pick me up elsewhere"
with a sprinkle of "You ****ed up, slave!" variety.
Because they put the pin at the wrong place by accident or deliberately.
(Or sometimes, they are literally standing next to your car, but are
too drunk to figure it out. I don't want them in the car, either.
Cleaning fees are not worth it.)

I wanted to let that cheap Lyft Line customer have it on the telephone when he berated me for declining his Line ping but accepting his regular ping (I must have been the only Lyft car in the area), but, I just hung up. Why I reject or rudely hang up on pax......

I pick up the phone very rarely and if pax says " I see you come get me, I am on the other side of the road" or something similar...I just hang up and leave and shuffle. ....

I do think they document all complaints and perhaps after enough uber and Lyft will send out a warning or deactivate.

I had a regular uber lux rider that actually got deactivated but it was because of multiple complaints of the same stuff over a year

If the Surge is high enough I call them and keep them on the line until their soon to be Longhauled ass is in the car. Less chance of them canceling if I'm on the line with them.

Do you understand the infrastructure needed to record every single phone call? To even transcribe every call, processing power and storage needed is not a smart move for Uber.

Furthermore, in the 3 years I have been trolling multiple Uber forums/groups, I have not seen one instance where a driver was reprimanded or Uber alluded to a call being recorded.

It is possible but I don't see anything beneficial coming from Uber recording every phone call. We are talking about a $3 ride and in the grand scheme of things, a Rider complaining for unprofessionalism does not justify managing a multi-million dollar system to log calls.

I suppose you think Uber records our rides as the app has access to our cameras and microphones. ROFL. #paranoiddriver

I'm not really worried tbh. I just thought it was funny honestly and was glad to cuss her out. She deserved it. I just know sometimes if the pax claims I cussed at her and reaches Uber they could've just taken her side and punished me so I gave them my alternate side first. Which I know was slightly false but like others here I believe uber cannot be recording every private call to us and I'd sue them blind if they did. In 1500 rides tho I had one other rider complain that I was rude and aggressive or whatever to her tho so know uber can use a second strike to just say F U were done.

Which is why you should write to Uber and complain about her as soon as she is out of your car. That way Uber most likely to take your side because you managed to let them know about ride BEFORE her.
