I guess this is not bad for a part-timer?
I started December 12th, Lyft Only (no Uber). Part Time in the evenings and occasional weekends.
Hit 1000th Ride at 7pm this evening.
Yay Me?
Congrats. I wish we got something for hitting these marks. Oh well. I'm 2892. Still their top driver lol def only in ride numbers not anything else lol

1. Where in the burbs do you drive? I signed up for both LYFT and UBER and I'm wondering what the LYFT traffic is like in the areas it's offered at in Ajax and Oshawa
2. Just finished my LYFT background check and am awaiting the part to upload my HST # - dont have it yet but it's in the mail now - what bonuses am I going to expect once I start?
I drive Mississauga/Brampton mostly (albeit Milton and Oakville factor in as well).
But If I get 'paid' to go downtown Toronto by a Pax, I will always stay downtown. I've never been to Ajax or Oshawa. One ride took me to Pickering a few months ago, and that was far enough.
My regular routine: I happen to live in a residential neighborhood in Mississauga that (in general) has very few ants after 10pm. This is when I drive. Evenings are solid enough lots of back and forth to Milton/Brampton, but lots of dead km. Would not recommend my particularly strategy if you are using a gas car unless it a PRIUS.
Currently working out my 2018 Tax Year, here are some numbers, LYFT ONLY, in case you are interested
(Mostly in the suburbs and lots of Destination Feature, hence the high dead km%)
(Also, cancels/no-shows which get the 5.65 fee are not counted as 'rides', so inflate the cost per ride)
I have not included (# of hours with App on) to get 'hourly rate' because LYFT doesn't provide this info, and I don't track it. But some quick arithmetic says on average I did 4 rides a day (under the false assumption of driving EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR!)...which is kind of shocking, considering I tell myself I'm doing this part-time. I usually drive week-day evenings and some Weekends.

I will know in a bit what I spent it gas in 2018. I'm expecting it to be well under $300 PER THE ENTIRE YEAR.
Electricity costs are ~1.2cent per km, so around $350 on electricity for doing a years worth of ride share, and this includes all the DEAD kms. THIS IS WHY AN EV is a good vehicle for rideshare.
Fortunately, he's using a hybrid and most of the driving is done on cheap electricity. Otherwise, its' a guaranteed money loser to do Lyft in the suburbs. :coolio::coolio::coolio::coolio:
Well, I now know what I spent in Gas on Rideshare for 2018. Was higher than I thought, I'm surprised I spent on average $13/wk over and above my Electric driving.
For what it's worth.
I SPENT $704 (And $91.70 in HST on that gasoline, which will be remitted as ITC) on Gasoline
(This was on 1544 Rides, 34929km) or put it another way, 2.5% of my Gross Sales
