"Triple Five, which also owns Mall of America in Minnesota, has purchased several helicopters and has had discussions with partners to run the service.
"Uber's name has been mentioned almost exclusively in Wall Street circles," digital consultant Brittain Ladd told The Post.
American Dream declined to address whether it is in talks with Uber, but it acknowledged that it will have a "ride-share hub on site and will offer visitors access via helicopter - making it simple to visit the property from not only New York City, but airports, the Hamptons and more," a spokesperson said in a statement.
The helipad is located on the roof of Saks Fifth Avenue, which signed a lease in 2015 to bring the luxury department store there, decamping from the Short Hills mall to do so."

Yeah. Great. Now, Uber is sticking their tentacles into the private air travel business.

JC ghetto queens with 3 carts of Wal-mart now getting their POOL in private helicopters for cheaper than the city bus.

Uber has been doing helicopters for a while now in the Middle East. Just because it's proposed doesn't mean it'll happen.

Do y'all overreact to every little thing Uber does?

Also, "this mall will fail" yeah ok dot gif.

I see the new mall as a positive and as a source of new Uber and Lyft rides as families go there to shop and play at the water park. I would rather pick up families that drunk Jets fans at MetLife. The passengers renting Uber helicopters won't be taking any business away from Uber cars. I wouldn't lose any sleep about it.

Maybe we can attach a big hook to the roof of the car and have the helicopters extract us after NYC runs. How else will they get drivers to sit around the Meadowlands waiting for a 2-mile trip into midtown?

BTW, what iteration of the mall is this current project? The fourth? Fifth? Even odds it will fail before 24 months.
