I have to give kudos to PNC for having an organized pick up area. Picked up a couple for the Ed Sheeran concert and it was very organized. Except it seems paxs can't find the Uber lot no matter how many times you have to tell them where it is..

Anyway, I had tried to pick up another couple from CCUMP last month. His location came up in a neighborhood so I headed there. He calls me and asks why I'm 10 minutes away and not 3 minutes like it said before. He starts carrying on about how bad Uber is. I finally get out of him he's at CCUMP so I told him to stay there, I'm on my way. I get in the the LONGEST line ever, really disorgainzed, cars just lined up at the curb and no one is moving. The guy calls me back and says I'm 5 minutes away. He starts carrying on again about Uber. Then he says he's in a softball field and that's where his uber driver had dropped him off at before the concert! I tell him I'm at the gate and he just starts screaming at me! By this time, I had wasted practically half an hour trying to find the street in the neighborhood, then getting in that ridiculous line. I hung up on him and cancelled the ride. Got stuck for another half hour trying to get out. I'm pretty sure I passed him walking from the field to the venue.

I'm to the point where I want to refuse doing any sort of pickup there because it's so bad. Anyone have any suggestions? Are paxs getting dropped off at the softball field? That place was h*ll!

I stopped doing pick ups there last year after the Def Leppard concert. Unfortunately I still get the occasional drop of there, which is just as bad as pick up. They are extremely disorganized and none of their areas are clearly marked.

The area at PNC may be organized BUT how long did it take you to get in? Once it starts backing up on Trinity it can easily take you 20 to 30 minutes to get your pax.
At Coastal you need to call your pax and manage them. If you get attitude, immediately cancel and get another one. Depending on which way you come from determines where you are dropping pax, when I come from Poole Road and Sunnybrook, I get diverted to the ball field usually to drop pax off, probably impossible to get pax there after the concert. I usally call as I'm on my way, tell them it will be 15 or 20 minutes before I get there and ask them what parking sign they are closest to. (should be A, B, C or D) and tell them to walk down the sidewalk to the D's and I'll meet them there. They give you any crap, cancel and get another one unless the surge is already dropping off in which case you have a gamble to make.

With all that said, I'm kind of over picking up after events. Given the amount of time involved it's barely worth it, especially if you get a shorty. I am much more likely to go back if I do a drop off and prearrange a cash fare back. Then I'll get there a little early and be waiting for them and try to get out of the lot quickly. Then it's worth it because I'm starting at $50 and if they flake on me, I'm well positioned to wait for the surge to go up, grab one and go.
