Night number 3 at Coachella and I'm still seeking my first trip for the $40 per trip bonus that drew tens of thousands of drivers to Coachella like thirsty dogs. Hopefully the herd has been sufficiently thinned and I can finally make it to the front of the line without throwing in the towel like the first two nights and heading back to Walmart parking lot to crash for the evening.

Coachella has been a nightmare. Should have listened to the vets and locals who post here and warned not to go to Coachella.

Really need a miracle tonight and a ride back to LA tonight or in the morning to bring me out of the red for this trip.

And to add insult to injury I see all these posts about how good Los Angeles and OC were all weekend...

Go to the lot early, and set your df to LA. Good Luck :smiles:

It will be hard for you to get in the lot, if you wait , until the concert is over, so go early.

Was deception really the intent when this document was created or was it done by someone at Uber unfamiliar with the logistics of Coachella that would make such a quest/promo impossible?

I think the intent is ensure that the promotion qualifies for an unlimited amount of trips, by writing code for an unrealistic number. Sort of why there are 1000 year prison sentences, to ensure someone dies in prison even with unforeseeen circumstances.

I'm a local in the Coachella Valley. I cleared $150 in 4 hours during the day, went home and rested up, and then went to Palm Springs and took all those shuttle trips for 2 hours making another $100-$150. On Saturday night, one guy came home from Coachella and decided to go to the Date Farmers after-party in Downtown Coachella. I drove him there and it wasn't 20 seconds after the guy got out of my car after he gave me a $20 tip that I got pinged for down the street at another after-Party going back to Palm Springs, and then finished off the last of the shuttle rides. That was almost $200 for 3 hours of work on top of the $150 I made during the day. I started around 1:00 p.m. each day and went till about 5:00 p.m. and stayed busy with $10-15 trips mostly and a few $30 trips.

On Friday, there were too many out of towners here talking about making crazy money. I also saw one guy whine at the support module about how he wasn't going to drive someone for $30 and wanted $75.

As I said in my post on Friday night, if you came in from out of town, lick your wounds and go home. Especially if you came in from the Los Angeles and San Diego markets. Don't come down here next weekend unless your expectations are realistic. The days of easy money, 2k to 3k a weekend are over. Oh, and stay out of those Lyft and Uber lots on the property if you notice traffic. Go to Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, or Palm Desert at 12:00am and catch the shuttles where you dropped off people during the day.

so you mean to tell me you couldnt get a single ride there all weekend? wowsers
I have a hard time believing that given Lyft had rides everywhere and Uber did too. My friend who drove Uber said people were complaining about the prices and the shenanigans the out of towners we're doing like driving really slow, forgetting where the Uber lot was circling around the site on Friday, doing the fake puke cleanup fees with obviously fake photos, and they were using Lyft instead.

I have a hard time believing that given Lyft had rides everywhere between 1-5 and maybe 6ish and then at midnight to 4am, and Uber did too. Trust me, they already knew that it was impossible, so it was misleading.

You're a sweet heart for helping drivers out and telling them where to go to make money out there. That's so cool of you.:smiles:
