The current Gainesville, Florida, Vehicle For Hire (VFH) ordinance, https://www.municode.com/library/fl/gainesville/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=PTIICOOR_CH28VEHI, may change to allow alcoholic beverages in the VFH if the City Commission approves it on September 1st.

As someone who used to be a driver, even with this change I would never allow someone in my car with a solo cup. You're going to end up with hunch punch all over your nice leather seats.

But as a passenger, I'm glad I can take an extra road beer on the way to the bar.
