OK, so yesterday i took my car to the shop to get some work done. I had to uber back home and that was fine. later on that day i had to uber back when my car was ready, and i requested an uber. The guy had a 4.2 rating, and when i saw that i wondered how it could be so low? Well when he pulled up and i got into his car i found out. It reeked of cigarettes! It was bad, I could't breath or roll the windows down because they were locked. When i asked the guy how long he had been driving, he said it was only his SECOND week. He has only been driving for two weeks and his rating was already a 4.2. When i got to my destination i only gave him 1 star as im sure many other riders had given him. I even had a $10 bill in my pocket that i planned on giving him cause I always tip when i use an uber (I know the struggle) but i didn't give it to him on account of how bad the smell was. I just don't see how he wouldn't take into account the way his car smells or how clean it was when he's picking up riders.

Smoking is a disgusting and harmful habit. I know because I smoked from age 14 until age 31. And, I watched my father die of lung cancer at age 71. He smoked all the way to the hospital.
I get many riders that reek of cigarette smoke. I have to air out my car thoroughly and spray the interior with Ozium before my next rider.

Don't worry cheap rate cheap service. Non of those driver on the road think uber is great, so pax. So basically its tit for tat. Well I don't give a crap about uber any more. Don't u see $300 evey referal uber pays and at least they have to cover that expenses before they deactivate that crap driver. So in the mean time uber will suck the blood out of that driver untill bone marrow comes from the straw and deactivate. He goes and another joins.

By the way you sound like u work in uber office. So bro did u get the answer. I would definitely say F*** uber hard lol...

Yea know i don't work in the office. I'm getting screwed by Uber just as much as the next guy. I just couldn't believe you could have so low a rating so fast and be deactivated already.

There is no excuse for drivers smoking in a for-hire car. Many cigarette smokers think their smoking freedom trumps everyone else's freedom to breath fresh air. But when it comes to providing a ride for hire, their smoking freedom will get them what they deserve... big fat deactivation. His days are numbered.

Plus how do you know it the driver that smoking.I pick up a passanger that was smoking his cigarette while I pulled up.My car started to smell like cigarettes when he got in.That another reason uber want deactivate for the smell of smoke. They can't prove the smell was from the driver our a previous passanger. That would be another lawsuit for them

I picked up a rider who reeks of weeds and my whole car smells like I did some weeds and it's so strong! So, I gave him a one star and I had to drive around with windows down till it goes away!
I thought weeds don't smell. ;)

When I smell weeds in my car, I always turn around and say, damn, you smell like you just smoked out and hand them my febreeze. Then I ask them to spray the back seat when they get out. Then I pull out my tip weeds jar and have them throw a sample in there for me.

I really do not give a damn what people think when it comes to my personal health, NOBODY SMOKES IN MY CAR. Uber could not make me agree to have smokers in my car. They do not own it. The shit they pay cannot even pay to maintain a car, and any day that they insist I pick up a smoker and allow him to smoke in my vehicle, I quit.

Uber is so hard up for drivers they really don't deactivate anymore. They will probably reset his ratings.
Uber's management is so full of dumb people that they did not believe that dropping drivers due to low ratings by their stupidly flawed rating system, would one day come back to bite them? The lazy beuracrats that sits on their assess in uber's offices should be worried about their jobs, since their job security depends on the drivers incomes. If drivers organize themselves properly, they could get better incomes out of uber.
