But then I will lose precious boot room for luggage on airport runs which I sometimes do a few of in a day for something I will do less that once in a hundred.

Actually decided to get two of the simple booster seats (no back) as I've had a few trips with small kids now and they've been pretty good fares usually. Luckily I have a huge boot so I should be able to fit these in with no problems and still have ample room for airport runs.

I hate the idea of knocking back fares (especially ones that have ended up well over $50) just because they have a kid <7, but equally hate the idea of getting done by the cops for it.

They were $57 for the two including delivery so one good fare will cover the cost.
