hello I am a tlc new York city chevy suburban driver . I have an issue with the dmv . My vehicle was registered with 8 seats at time of purchase in 2019 and never been alterated for seat capacity since then. DMV sent me the renewal letter as always and this time they told that their records show that seat capacity is 9. I have never done this changes and explicitly sent 8 as seat capacity IN MY RENEWAL FORM . TWICE I ask this as this is a serious issue since I never heard of a stock chevy or gm truck with 9 seats and NYC LAW SINCE FEB 9TH OF 2021 REQUIRES DOT INSPECTION AND CLD LICENSE TO OPERATE A 9 SEATS VEHICLE . IF ANYONE ELSE is experiencing the same issues please let me know , also suggestions on how to solve this nonsense with the dmv is really welcome thank you in advance , regards

it will cost u!!! (in south american accent)
there is 20 dollar mandatory fee to fill seat capacity correction form at ur nearest and dearest dmv express centre on jamaica queens which will also add another 7 to 10 days of wait time, which u will feel only if ur tlc inspection is right in that time frame...
and ur welcome.

How got dam dumb NYS is. The dam Vin number has all the metadata what kind of vehicle is it ETC. All these error makes me think NYS DMV probably got hacked and everything is in chaos mode. There software is probably having massive glitch and as NYS is they probably want fees to fix there own mistake lol.

What did you send? This insert, application and a check without an amount? If I want to send a money order instead of check how do I send it without an amount? I currently don't have checks, ordered them but it takes 7 days to arrive. My inspection expires next month and I'm worried a bit because dmv takes forever to do something.
