So last week I am over at lax, I accept a ping, call pax to confirm that they know where to go. This was during lax "rush hour" when it takes 15 minutes to get over to the pax. I can usually get there a little faster, but its still gonna take some time. Pax says "my last driver told me it was gonna take 30/35 minutes and asked me to cancel, if its gonna take that long I am just going to take a taxi". I was pretty sure I knew exactly what was happening, but I wanted to be sure, so I told her the truth that it would be 15 minutes.
Now I figured the first driver had gotten the destination out of the lady, and when the driver realized it was a short ride, he made up the 30/35 minute time frame and told her to cancel as he didn't want to do a short trip out of lax.
Sure enough, it was a bullshit super short MDR ride.
So, cherry pickers, can you please use this method to cherry pick so I know its a short ride too, and then I too will tell the lady, yes its going to be 35 minutes.
If this is done, then everyone will know when a pax asks if it will really take 35 minutes its a short ride.
Better a taxi guy getting it than us.
