So, you drop off rider and you're waiting for the next? How far do you drive? A nearby Supermarket parking lot? The nearest major street? Maybe to a Hotel row of MetroLink station?

I'm a 1 month driver and would like some advice. InstaGram gives you a Hot Zone map, but advices not to chase the business

It depends on a lot of factors. After 4 years of this I pretty much just drive from staging location to staging location. It's sort of like driving a route at this point. But if you're new to this I would not recommend driving around wasting gas. Which area of the IE are you driving in specifically? I may be able to suggest a few staging spots for you.

I'm in the IE as well.

I live in San Bernardino, so I guess the " Staging areas" would be the MetroLink, Hotel Row (Hospitality Lane) and Baseline.
Those are fine. I've done Hospitality Lane and the various transportation stations. Both areas are time-sensitive but reliable. Don't forget the casino (24/7). You can get pings from a rather large radius up there.

On my GOD!!! The UBER map hates Indian Land! New construction is one thing, but riders will either be 4th floor parking OR at Valet parking (it's been 50/50 for me).
But picking up at a house on reservation the map sends you to Casino OR a back alley

Ignore pings from the parking structure. Stage from the parking lot at Victoria and Lynwood. Pick up from the lane next to the valet parking. You can get pings from Redlands, Hospitality Lane, Colton and the north end of Berdoo from here.

I live 3-4blocks from employee parking, so I guess it works. I kind of pick up the rider where they want, tho. If they say at UBER spot in structure that's where I go.

Nice. So you can actually stage from home and get pings from a large area. I myself can't. I'm surrounded by drivers 24/7. Anything that makes it through to me is because it was ignored by everyone else first.

I try to avoid San Bern. The court house area can work. If I'm on the east side of the 210 I think its better to head to Redlands. Loma LInda off Barton.

Could download Fare pilot app. It shows you the same old places once you get use to it. But once you learn it, your area, it becomes obvious.

Same here. It is where I started, but it was just too slow. Also too sketchy, too many scams, and too many college kids. As long as SB has real surge the events that take place there are worth working. If they lose real surge then stick a pin in that place because it is done. JMO.
