I don’t do this for everyone but I definitely make a point to go back into the app and change the ratings for cheap bastards living in mansions that don’t tip and leave them a nice one star rating. If they end up tipping later (over 95% still never do) I can change it back. A nice little known feature of the Uber app.

I can't find a way to do this on my Android Uber app but did find a link on the web site log in. Did this twice last year.
From your main page click on “earnings” then “see details” then click on the day if it’s this week or go to the week you are looking for and click on the day the trip occurred then scroll down to “see details”. Find the trip then click on the “?” to the right of “Trip Details” scroll down to “All Topics” then click on “Help with a trip” click on “my rider was rude” then the “what kind of feedback do you have” then “negative feedback”. Click on the kind of negative feedback you want to give. I usually select “slammed vehicle” or “other” and say rider was rude. Then you can adjust rating

Retaliatory ratings based on no tip. How absolutely sad of an individual does it take to do this?

Regardless if this guy is a hobo or if he's bill gates, they are in no position to tip you for any reason other than good service. And even then that is at the discretion of the passenger.

If you can't rely on getting your bills paid without having a tip you're in the wrong business.

You do you know that every single thread gets scroll through the main page?

But that doesn't change how sad it is to retaliatory rate somebody because of a tip.

First off the title of the thread is “changing customer ratings later”. That can be done for any myriad of reasons. I simply chose doing it for cheapo SOBs. You took offense which is no surprise because I’m sure you are the same type of cheap SOB that stiffs the bartender, the waitress, the maids, the bellman and the valet. You people are the only ones who take offense to being called out on being a cheap f—k. Now move along and try not to pinch those pennies so tight Mr. Uber Morality Police. 🤡

This is retaliatory. Even by your own emission you purposely go back to do this.

Did you not do your job based on the pay that you accepted?

There's no guarantee or promise in tips when doing rideshare. If all you did was pick him up and drop him off you got paid for your services as designed. What tip are you entitled to?

Now had your original story included that you did this, that, or the other above and beyond your service, I can understand that. However it doesn't say this and if you do try to change it now you're just being a lying sob.

Here again what's the difference if you drop off in the projects or if you drop off at a mansion? Both services were rendered and paid for. Because this guy's got money you expect more? That's also being petty. Get over yourself. You get paid to do a job and that's it.

Oh you got money I need a tip, bullshit.

Is that all you got?

Personal attacks to obfuscate your intentional retaliation for no tip?

Do you also go back and change your ratings for people that don't live in a mansion that also don't tip?

Just so you can continue on your personal attacks instead of facing the retaliatory 1 star issue, grammar and spellings up on your next reply.

The only thing a waiter does is take orders and bring the food. Do you not tip them?

First of all if that's all your waiter does I would suggest finding a better place to eat. There's more to it than just bring food and taking your order. What about drinks, condiments, more napkins, maybe even special requests that are not on the menu or provided in a normal service of eating. But I'm not eating at McDonald's either like you're describing. I am tipping for on-demand service above and beyond ordering and delivering my food.

They are also paid a very minimum wage of three or four dollars, for some times up to 2 hours of time depending on the type of dinner or food you are eating. Would you work for three or four dollars for an hour? Of course you wouldn't.

Tipping is relative to the service given. It always has been and there's no question that if there's more work to be done than what is originally allotted or paid for, you tip. If the service is subpar then you don't tip as much or at all. But they did the work above and beyond what was originally projected and paid for. Am I not right?

The question here is this individual specifically sought out and retaliated against an obvious rich person for not providing a tip for services already rendered and paid for. What did he do above and beyond driving point A to point b? Did you not get paid for that? Did you not accept that pay based on those parameters? What did you do to provide service to Warrant an additional payment?

I ask again, do you go back and change the ratings for a person that is not living in a mansion to a one-star for not tipping? Of course you don't. You're just jealous of the fact that this individual has more money than you do and you think you deserve more. You don't you got paid for services rendered.

can't defend yourself now can you? Your little emojis are not going to change the fact that you purposely retaliatory one start an individual based on their financial well-being.

You posted this on a public forum. Did you really think you weren't going to get shit for this?

So Sunday night was the One Republic concert. It was a $4 surge on top of a $1.50 boost on a base fare. So it was like $9 and change.

I pull up and there's a crap load of people standing there waiting for Ubers like always after the concerts. These two get in and these two other walk up to the car at the same time. The two that got in the car was the original pax and asked me if the other two could ride with us to the same location even though, now get this, they did not know the people whatsoever.

I'm thinking well it's your responsibility you're paying for it I guess it's all right. So we get to the Hyatt, 100 and some dollars a night, and drop them off. They get out and the 2 added pax tried to pay the original pax.

This * had the nerve to say and I quote" don't worry about it just pay it forward."

They turn around and then walked off.

Still waiting for a tip..

And to go further into this statement, you do realize there could be up to five or six tables at one time this individual is Servicing for a base rate of three or four dollars an hour.

Rideshare is not paid per hour it's paid per ride. If was getting paid three or four dollars an hour to do Rideshare, I would expect tips on every single ride. But you wouldn't be paid a fare on every ride either.

As I pointed out she offered money to the original Booker of the ride. Instead she said just pay it forward.
Did I go back and retaliate, no I did not.

And I'm still waiting patiently for the tip.

You want to try again?

Lyft has it too but I am not as mean as you seem to be but I give 3 stars if they promise to tip on the app but don't within my next ride is complete. I give 4 stars if it was an airport run and they had lugguge in my trunk and no tip or if they used to be or is currently a driver of Lyft/Uber but do not tip. How to remember to go back (we have 24 hours to do so and they better tip well before that) is to leave the same, generic message on their rating. "Thank you so much for the tip!" This was when you notice new tips overnight, you know to go back to their rating and adjust or leave the message.
