Taking my car to the shop tomorrow. Assuming its going to be out of commission for a few days. Was thinking about renting a car for the week and just driving like 2,000 miles, pool, express pool, express express express pool. Whatever I get for that 1 week. Can you get a car for just 1 week? What is the downside other than the obvious??

I personally have never done it, but I think if you are committed to actually putting in a significant amount of hours and driving at least 1200+ miles than it would be worth your while. You would need to go through the Uber partnership rental place to get the car added on your account, and that is expensive.

with the speed Uber processes paperwork it doesn't seem like I'll be getting a car this month. Might have to go through lyft

I rent by the week. Not bad. Only thing is if SunPass doesn't Get noticed for any reason during a toll (device failure or low funds), they charge $6 extra and double the toll sometimes. Had to pay $100 extra cuz i forgot to fill up my SunPass again and also cuz it didnt get noticed in some tolls for some reason

If you do the Avis/Uber rental, you can only do Uber. You have to make a reservation a few days before actually getting the car

Can't do both. Lyft has their own rental program and uber has their own separate program

Heard good things about either one. Can't go wrong with either
