Can you park nearby and wait until I need a ride?

LMAO, out in Lake county, the typical rider is only going 3 miles and doesn't tip. The number of drivers drops from 6 to 2 by 11 pm and zero by 1 am. Yes, NO ONE is making the final bar call pick ups. Pull up your rider app at 2 am and see not one driver in the whole county and yet there is no surge.
Customers that you are dropping off in downtown Willoughby are always quick to tell you they will need a ride later (at no specific time) as if you will park nearby and wait hours for the chance to earn $2.40.
I tried brushing off one customer by saying "I doubt I will work late, but there are other drivers in the area". He snapped back that there is never any drivers late at night and directly asked me to be available. I explained that short trips don't even add up to minimum wage and then I have to buy gas and maintenance so I wasn't sure if I would work late.
They then exited from their SHORT TRIP without a tip.
Pricing on short trips needs to be DOUBLED. Mighty pathetic when 6 drivers can't be bothered with the closing crowd. Why would anyone want to deal with drunken a-holes who will demand that you let 6 riders into your 4 seats, then puke and shit rate you for $2.40 before expenses?

Because you're they're "Personal Driver". Each time they open the app it reminds them.

Here is what you do.

Stand out side the bar when they all roll out, then start a bidding who will pay you the most in cash to take them home.

them: you gonna be around later?

me (what i want to say): how the **** should i know and what is later, and are you going to make it worth my time? hmmmm? no? didnt think so.

me: prolly not. it's whiskey-thirty. i'll be on my back porch.
I simply respond, I am always around. No more, no less. People seem to be happy with that response.

"Sure, absolutely".
Same thing I tell my wife and kids when they ask if I can fly to the moon.
Don't piss people off with reality, smile and wave like the Penguins of Madagascar.

Eh... Drivers are smart there. I think this is the only way to get rates to go back up.

If nobody wants to drive for a dollar a mile. That says a lot about the current fare rates. We are our own personal contractors so we can say what we would drive for.

That's why I don't get mad at people who say they should NOT tip us. It doesn't bother me they don't tip, but I won't pick them up unless they are three minutes away from me. For every 5 star I will drive out of my way, maybe 8 or 10 minutes away to pick them up. If I find out that 5 star doesn't tip. I will give a 4 star to let other drives and myself in the future that the PAX was a nice rider, but does not tip which I won't go out of my way to pick them up next time.

4.4 and lower, I don't even bother. I don't care if I'm the only car in a 20 mile radius. Their ass is walking to the bus stop or they are calling a taxi.
