Can undocumented immigrants drive U/L?

Yours truly picked up a pax in Minneapolis this weekend who genuinely surprised that I'm "actually from Minnesota" because, she said, most of her Uber driver are immigrants (doesn't surprise me) including a significant number whom are undocumented (this surprised me!), and begged the question....

What
Wrong!!! They will get a drivers license, not a social security number, which is required for rideshare and the background check.
Without a green card you are not allowed to work. Also need 2 years of driving experience if I remember correctly. And a car by the way, which I dont see the illegals carrying one over the border.
LOL What rock you living under? Millions of illegals work in the USA with fake social security numbers and bogus green cards, and several news agencies have covered many crimes committed by illegal aliens in the USA while driving for Uber.

If they are using someone else app they can and are.
So then, are they using someone else's account to drive U/L?, or some how getting a so-called "fake" SS card? Im still super confused.
The State of California used to issue a non-working Social Security Number so you could get a license and many out-of-status people used those numbers to obtain employment.

Not every illegal crosses the Mexican Border and many are here out of status after legally coming here but never leaving.

Obtaining a Social Security Number Legally wasn’t that hard in California because they would issue one when you went to get your driver’s license but it would state not to be used to gain employment with.

So basically my post stands as is.
You are not ALLOWED to work.
If an employer gives them a job, then its on them to make sure the paperwork is legal.
And alot of farms depend on the immigrant workers because the average American will not pick veggies in the hot sun for minimum wage.
Kick out the immigrants and your store shelves will be empty.

And btw, us born citizens are commiting 2.5 times the crimes vs illegals.
And 90% of all drugs smuggled into the states is by us citizens.
And unless you are Native American you or your descends are immigrants too.

1) Employer has “employee” fill out a useless federal I-9 form.

2) Employer is not allowed to question the “documents” used by the “employee” who is filling out the useless federal I-9 form.

3) Employer stuffs the useless federal I-9 form inside some useless overstuffed file cabinet that is NEVER viewed by the useless federal agency that created the useless federal I-9 form in the first place.

I would bet that the recent immigrant drivers we see are properly documented, whether they speak English well or not

Ehen my passengers tell me about their last driver who didnt speak English, I laugh and tell them at this airport (RSW) you will get either a recent immigrant working hard to support himself and his family and to realize the American Dream, or an old fart like me, driving to supplement his retirement

If I see any indication that they dont like it that immigrants struggle with english and are here taking "our" jobs I let them know about my family. My paternal grandparents who came to the US in 1905 from Italy and my maternal great grandparents who came to the US from Holland in 1859. They didnt speak English either and had no assets other than their strong backs. And that I have enormous respect for todays immigrants. They remind me of my family

I'll take that bet !
and by probably documented I mean prior to this joke of an administration that ignores standing immigration policies on the books that most have had to abide by throughout the history of the United States like your great grandparents and my parents

What if the lack of trips is not a normal January slump, but the consequence of allowing 250K illegal border crossings each month?

Wages are being driven down because there is an unlimited supply of labor, which at least in part is due to illegals gaming the system.

Anyone who is working in this sector should be anti-illegal immigration. The old argument that "americans don't want to do these jobs" couldn't be farther from the truth.

I mean a green card whenever it was issued
when my paternal grandparents came her the only requirement to enter the us was a little money and good health ie open borders

i agree that the way we deal with refugees and immigrants needs reform but we also need folks willing to work. The guy I’m calling to try to get my boat running again ( the outboard engine went under water during Ian) is named Jose. The guy with a chainsaw and crew, that cut up the downed trees and hauled them away after the storm is also named Jose, the guy that cares for my pool is also an immigrant. He is from England and he told me he has overestimate his visa. Every other home on my street is getting a new roof and Spanish is the only language I hear from the workers. And today the guy that repaired my refrigerator was from Cuba. I have no idea whether any of these people are properly documented and I don’t care. They are hard workers and we need them. We have work that needs to be done and they do it. We need immigrants if for no other reason than we have work to do that too many of us won’t do

Maybe Gus and Chuck don’t do those jobs anymore because the 20 new Jose’s in town are making it unprofitable because they are bottom feeders In a race to the bottom in wages.

This is a misleading argument. First of all, all illegal immigrants in the US are criminals because every single one of them has committed the crime of entering the country without permission, or remaining here without permission. Also, illegal immigrants often do not report crime that occurs in their community by other illegal immigrants, because they're tying to stay off the government's radar. So, crime statistics in immigrant communities are inaccurate. Crime committed by illegal immigrants is a problem, because it's harder for law enforcement to find and arrest criminals who are flying under the radar. Also, some of the worst criminal gangs in the US, such as MS-13, have a lot of illegal immigrant members.

The drug smuggling across the southern border involves a combination of US citizens, citizens of various other countries, and illegal immigrants. The smugglers use immigrant surges across the borders to divert attention from their delivery routes. Also, the drug carters use human smuggling as another source of revenue and to recruit employees. If the southern border was more secure, such as building a tall, solid wall all the across its length, it would make it harder for the smugglers to get the drugs across.

The Native Americans are immigrants to the American continent. They either came across from Russia into Alaska or by some other means. The historic evidence is clear that humans did not organically originate in the Western hemisphere. So, everyone here is a descendent of immigrants. Anyway, that's not the point. When the US needed immigrants, they invited them in. The problem isn't immigration, per se, it's ILLEGAL immigration.

By the way, it used to be the Democrats who were stronger against illegal immigration. If you'll remember, leftist activist Cesar Chavez used to send vigilantes to the southern border in California in the 1970s and 80s to try to stop illegals from crossing. Also, leftist environmental organizations like the Sierra Club during that time period also condemned illegal immigration because of the negative effect they said it had on the environment. When the Democrats started kowtowing to the globalists during the Obama administration, they suddenly stopped trying as hard to close the southern border and leftist environmental organizations dropped their opposition to mass immigration. The global elitists pushing more immigration, illegal or otherwise, aren't necessarily left or right in political persuasion, they're just using polemical talking points to push policies that ultimately, only benefit them.

Illegal and mass immigration is devastating to the home countries of the immigrants. It creates a tremendous brain drain when their most motivated young men leave to go north. When the cream of their labor crop leaves, it prevents the populace in those countries from developing their home economies to their fullest extent, and from rooting out the corruption that exists in many of those countries. Mass illegal immigration from Latin America to the US is one of the worst things that can happen to Latin America.

Making this exhausting long story short.
Large commercial operation give jobs to illegals.
