It almost got real last night when a dude in the Highlands (1) got in my car with a lit cig (2) jacks with my radio (3) starts talking trash. I had to read him the Riot Act before he got back in line. This NEVER happens to me in Montbello, N. Aurora, on Federal, or Commerce City. They know better. They just get in the car and behave.

Last summer I had a pickup at Avanti. I pull up & I can clearly see that the seriously intoxicated woman has peed her pants. Her date says no she hasn't, I'll pay you extra to take us. He's clearly desperate and not enjoying himself. I tell him dude, I dont want her pee on my seats. I can't tell you how satisfying it was to cancel & drive off.

I feel you. I've actually found that the most privileged amongst us - typically younger, drunk, ostensibly wealthy women in Boulder - try to disrespect me the most by trying to bring open solo cups into the car or light cigs. Come on, it's a 5-minute ride to the Rio, and you wouldn't want me to smoke in your car
Despise the red solo cups!

Had one with a red solo cup a few months back tell me it wasn't alcohol, I could smell the alcohol. Stopped at the end of his block, said look, I can smell the booze, I need you to pour the cup out, he got mad, told him to empty the cup or find another ride. He dumped the cup, he was steamed, oh well.

I carry towels in the back of my truck for just these occasions like pee or wet clothes, I'll put them on the seat, pax is still getting a 1 star and I'm submitting a cleaning fee.

Got a Select ping at 1801 Wynkoop last night. Was waiting just in front of the valet stand. Texted pax after 3 minutes, telling them where I'm waiting. A minute later I spot a couple walking towards me, a cup in hand of the guy. He gets in, i ask what's in the cup? A mixed drink he says.
Sorry, you can't have that in my car.
He gets all worked up, swears at me, tells me i was in the wrong spot. He then gets out and canceled the ride. Turned out he was only going to the convention center.
Stupid, entitled pax irk me the most. I probably saved this jerk a cleaning fee because the cup was full to the brim.
If you want to drink in your 3 minute ride, order a Black ride.

Good call. I have only allowed open containers twice. Both was when I was picking up in upper-middle class neighborhoods in FoCo, not quite affluent, but damn close. One was at about 530pm and they were heading to hang with other couples for happy hour. The other was a couple and their friend going to meet others at a restaurant that a friend owned. I could tell these older middle aged folks were A: Not drunk or rambunctious, and 2: Could handle themselves as grown ups. I just reminded them of CO open container laws, and asked for them not to hose me. They thanked me for treating them like adults and got tipped very well from both.

Having said that.... I have denied so many others, or canceled rides if they refused to get rid of their open drinks. The ones that made a big deal and threatened a 1* got reported. Homie don't plat dat.

I had two rides last night and both had plastic cups filled to the brim with a mixed drink. Told them to ditch the drink or call another Uber. Both cancelled and called another Uber and I got the cancel fee because the 5 min expired as they were slow to get ready. Both seemed shocked they couldn't bring in open alcohol! Both were a bit pissed at me. What's with these people? Do they hop in their own cars with a mixed drink? Are they under the impression it is legal (like a limo)? How many times per night does this happen for night drivers? I drive AM airport runs and only 5-9pm Fri and Sat evenings.

When I was working the bar shifts it would happen once a night most people were cool and would either slam it before getting in or just dump it.
Night driving is just all around awful and it's when Denver is most saturated with drivers

Thanks! I've done about 1,000 rides and this is 4th time I've had an open container - one was New Years which is another story. To add insult, one of the riders reported me as argumentative and "made him feel uncomfortable". Perhaps he'll feel uncomfortable again before he tries that on the next driver!

Well I am sad to announce, I had my first Puker last night. Ugh it was a good 2 year streak though. What really got my blood boiling though was her friend kept telling me, "She will be fine. Just keep going" (as we are pulled over on Colorado Blvd) . she's fine, says the girl who put the Denver Zoo as her home address. ;) Then when I do drop them off, they just hop out and say, "well thank you so much. You have a great night" no apology or anything!! Uber did compensate though. Which I must say, I was very impressed on the timely manner, in which they responded and how they responded. As for the friend who thought I should just "keep going", I'm sure I received a star rating after responding with - "with all due respect ma'am, unless you actually reside in the Baboon exhibit, at the zoo, I think I'll be the one making the decisions regarding my personal vehicle tonight:)."

I've had a total of 5 people puke in over 3,000 rides and uber will compensate. 150 bucks for a "major mess".....like down your window well....... It's not hardly enough though considering the lost revenue and time to properly clean up.
