I "GTFO" a couple of guys the other night, they were aggressively directing my driving and creating their own pool ride outside of the app, "turn here, stop here pick up this guy" etc. Anyway, I ended ride, 1star them, then they retaliate with 1 star and "professionalism" report. 1) Can pax see the "Rider Feedback"?
2) How long does the RF stay live, goes away after, a week, a month?.

These guys were from LA, maybe that's standard practice up here.

that sucks, now the monkeys will follow suit, you don't feed them a free sugar boost then they will retaliate in kind.
I ride Uber sometimes, and don't consider myself a "monkey."

The best defense at this point is just to continue to be professional and wait the comment out. I had one for "navigation" left by a guy who didn't like that I had to take a different exit to go get him and his date, than he preferred. (I couldn't get over in time after the call came through.) Yeah, I do feel some PAX scrutinized my direction-following a bit more closely until the comment went away. But no one else left one, either...

Unfortunately, this report will probably be visible in your Rider Feedback
section for 6-8 months.

Hardly anyone leaves comments anymore. When it was first introduced lots of
people left comments due to the novelty. Now that the novelty has worn off, pax
simply can't be bothered any longer, unless, of course, they have something
bad to say about you. In that case, they will go to the ends of the earth to make
sure to leave you a little parting gift in the form of negative feedback.

The only thing I can say regarding this is do your best to start upgrading the
quality of pax you allow into your vehicle.

Who &%[email protected]!*ing cares what the cargo thinks?

As long as you don't get deactivated your rating and pax feedback are irrelevant.

You don't get paid more to have good feedback.
I hear you and agree, just too many idiot pax out there, do something as simple as drop them off in a legal zone and they have to walk an extra 20' then they see the previous pax ding, it becomes monkey see monkey do. Just want to stop negative dings from reaching critical mass and getting DA. Additionally, this whole rating thing is unfairly skewed, anyone with the slightest common sense and reasonable self esteem would be affronted by the scheme..... well, unless you are one of "true believers"

If you click on your profile on Uber it shows you what the pax see. I'm pretty sure (not 100%) you can delete comments that you don't want visible on there.
nope there is no "profile" tab, the photo doesn't do it and nothing in settings or account. where?

Solution to that is simple, I am not posting it here, however.

I strongly disagree. We are tipped employees. Treat people well, and they treat you well. So, yes, you are paid more to have good "feedback."

Not to mention, why do this shitty job if you don't find people at least slightly interesting to share space with? There's very little return. You might as well deliver pizza.

Personally, I don't care if I'm emptying garbage cans or tarring a roof: if I am going to bother spending time on a job, I am going to do it well.

The rider can see it while the ride is in progress. There's a button they can push to read all about you along with all your comments.

I'm often surprised at by pax reading my comments aloud. They can see everything, the number of rides, all comments, where you're from, your sexual preferences.... it's all there.

What percentage of your total fare earnings are tipped on Uber?

People are cheap. They will drag you through a drive thru at a loss to you if you let them.

I make more by making them tip cash up front than just being nice and hoping they'll reciprocate.

I don't mind what I do, I like driving and some pax. But I also want to maximize earnings and experience doesn't trump earnings.

Some here are talking about rider feedback and some are talking about the rider comments. Two separate things. I think OP was talking about the feedback where it says you got a complaint about navigation, safety, cleanliness ect. As far as I know the complaint feedback is not visible to pax and it falls off each Monday.

They can't see the feedback but they can see there rating drop, so they saw that and 1 starred you back

No reason to kick them out, unless they expected you to drive around for more than 1 hour.

If a pax wanted someone picked up, it had to be within the route or not far from it otherwise I'd decline unless they waved around cash tips

I had no issue stopping for food for people either aslong as they didnt eat in the car

Experience doesn't trump earnings.
We each die with what we have most preferred to amass. I'll take a trunk full of experiences and marginally diminished earnings (if indeed they are), over years of wasted hours chasing $ and missing life.

Good luck with your strategy, but I am going to stick with mine.

By the way, here's a pretty representative screen showing tips. I do pretty well, I believe.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter FOR the PAX. They can have a 3.0 rating and won't get kicked off using Uber. Whereas as a driver you can get kicked off if you go below 4.7 Presumably.

Sure as a driver if you see a low rating you might decline that pax but the 2nd or 3rd driver will pick that pax up for sure.

But pax being able to see a comment we leave for them is at least something.

I don't go 'out of my way' for lowly-rated pax. For instance, if they are having trouble
finding my car, or fail to show up for their ride in a timely manner, they are far more
likely to get canceled on than a highly rated pax.

Pax might think their ratings don't matter, and much of the time, they could be correct.

However, there are also those times where it could cost pax an extra 10-15 minutes in
wait time (plus a bunch of added frustration) due to the closest driver not wanting to pick
up their 4.51 a**, or drivers being impatient with them because of their crappy ratings.

Certain Pax may not want to hear that, but that's just the way it is. A bad pax rating
(ie 4.64 and below) shows that you have a tough time treating your drivers in a fair and
reasonable manner much of the time.
