I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. When I worked at a car dealership we used to always send motors, oil pans, and other various damaged parts to various oil changing places. When I couldn't change the oil at home, I sent it to the dealer, that way there is written record of my oil changes. Now that I have a garage and what not I change the oil myself. Living in the city you probably don't have that option, just take it to the dealer. They usually send coupons to the house. I am not saying dealers are angels either, its just the better of the two options.
Yeah, those oil change guys are always disgruntled.

Maybe there's a car like your on turo. Then just drive somebody's car to the ground.
Also getaround, I've dropped off a few people there as well as spoken to owners who rent their car out. You'd have to swap license plates for it to work, but I don't think anyone should take that risk.

Breeze requires a minimum 1 month term, 195/week, and a 99 upfront fee, but they limit mileage to 600 a week. You'd probably go over that, unless you drove it for 2 weeks and let it sit once you get your car back. Good luck

Oh wow I guess Enterprise in Oakland got inundated with Uber drivers if they ran out of rentals, but it was also Pride Weekend which means that tourists would return the cars this week.

3950 Broadway, Oakland, CA (510) 597-7800. This phone number has a message that may give you 888 phone number for Uber-Enterprise prospective clients. If you manage to get an appointment, the closest Bart Station is MacAthur. Good luck!

I think it's pretty hopeless, I called Enterprise and they are out of cars in Oakland until the middle of July .. seems really strange that every Oakland location is emptied out, but I wasn't going to argue with the operator.

Sorry to note that Soupergloo. Breeze ends up as a possible alternative and you have to let them know that you only need it for 2 weeks because I think Nascar... wrote they need 2 weeks notice to return car. A Prius would save a lot of gas money in your wallet.

They don't actually offer all their rentals until this program. They're just offering 3+ year old cars.

Do getaround renters actually make money? I hate the idea of their decals though.

long story short, I need to replace the engine on my GTI and I'll be out of a car for 2 weeks.

Am I able to rent a car and keep driving until I get my car back?
I had a rental car for a day before. I did Uber with it. I texted every passenger the make, model, and license plate when i arrived. Pax are dumb, they say that the car doesnt match the app even though I texted them beforehand. But anyways..

You're not supposed to, but I did it anyways. Never for a long period of time tho.

One of my pax had a 3 series, she was raking at least 40 a day. More than enough to pay a car note.

There's a blog about a guy who's car was trashed by a renter tho lol, so ya never know
When they trash the car get around charges their cc on file usually thousands download their app on the iPhone and read reviews

Not the best way to pay the car payment I will consider it though if I ever get desperate lol

Sunset Service Super Lube is the best honest place to get an oil change in SF so far. All their other services are pricey, so I look around.

Do you know what they charge for full synthetic? Is that what you get?

There's a couple places on 19th, Pennzoil on Noriega, and the one I use, Quality on Kirkham. Just trying to compare. My full synthetic is 60 bucks.

I'd take the two weeks off ... Which k have in the past ... I was informed that I wasn't allowed to use a rental to Uber ... Insurance wouldn't cover it ... Things may have changed ...

Seems like a lot of trouble ... It's nature's way of telling you to take a break and the cosmos' way of telling you to look up at the stars ... No stress, no problems ... Relax and bathe in the good CARMA you are about to receive ... Just inform Uber you're taking a break ...

I would be inclined to agree with you on this one, but she's leaving $1k on the table just from that 80 rides per week guarantee.

Start a new thread and offer to rent a car from a fellow uber driver who may not be driving much over the next few days. Vehicle is already uber approved, just get uber to add it to your profile. Probably tell the renter to add you onto his/her insurance. That's how I started.

as much as I'd like it to be that easy, no one would do that for me.

I certainly wouldn't add a stranger to my insurance policy.
