good point! do you know how to actually do it? the enterprise link says only Oakland is the available location to pick up from and it says they have no cars available.
I think in that case your only option is XChange, or use an unregistered car.

XChange is going to cost 250 pickup and have to keep 30 days for 160 per week, then a 250 closing fee

Rent a car and swap plates? I have people check plate but they have no idea what make and model is

On my old car, I had oil changers screw the alternator. I mean it was lighting up my dashboard before I was out of the driveway

The coughed up money for parts but not labor. I didn't sue because it was a nine year old car. Good chance I wouldn't win

I do NOT recommend it, but there's a company called Breeze that does Prius rentals

The cost is absurd. $199 a week. Don't know of any return fees but I bet there are some. Nor do I know if they can get you a car fast enough to meet your quota.

I won't deign them with a link. Search google for: Uber breeze

Can you get on your bfs insurance?

I think it's pretty hopeless, I called Enterprise and they are out of cars in Oakland until the middle of July .. seems really strange that every Oakland location is emptied out, but I wasn't going to argue with the operator.
They don't actually offer all their rentals until this program. They're just offering 3+ year old cars.

Also getaround, I've dropped off a few people there as well as spoken to owners who rent their car out. You'd have to swap license plates for it to work, but I don't think anyone should take that risk.
Do getaround renters actually make money? I hate the idea of their decals though.

One of my pax had a 3 series, she was raking at least 40 a day. More than enough to pay a car note.

There's a blog about a guy who's car was trashed by a renter tho lol, so ya never know
This one? http://www.travelcodex.com/2016/01/my-car-was-stolen-while-renting-through-turo/

That comes off as a very positive experience, actually.

I've been considering, in the back of my mind, getting a Select qualifying car and renting it like this, and then driving Uber with it on days it's not rented. (and my prius when it is)

One thing is I don't really like the getaround logos on the car. I hate permanent markings like that.

We just keep digging ourselves in a whole.

You pay all that and then you get to keep a fraction. The take home gets smaller and smaller.
The car owner would be paying depreciation miles, not you. That's between 5 and 8 cents a mile, unless the car is already pretty old.

A serious Uber driver could do 1000 miles in a week, so at $300 its possible the owner is losing money.
