I'm going to get a new car. My boss offered to buy one under the company name for me and I can use it just like my personal car. He would not care if I drive for uber as long as I don't do it during working time. I will bear all ongoing cost except for insurance and rego.
My question is
1 Can I drive that company car for Uber?
2 If the answer to the first question is yes. Can I still claim tax deduction for ongoing cost like petrol, service and repair if I keep record to show that such cost is paid from my own credit card?
3 It seems Uber only request the car to be insured for a minimum of third party property damage, with the driver-partner as policyholder or named insured driver. I will have comprehensive insurance for the car. But it seems someone thinks that only comprehensive insurance from certain insurance company specifying ride sharing is included will actually cover the accident when a driver is driving for Uber. Is it right? Any Uber driver had issue with insurance claims when their insurance doesn't include 'ride sharing'?
