Cal is definitely a tougher match than Rice, but they are no Notre Dame.

I watched the entire Cal game against San Diego State. They have explosive big play abilities and their QB is legit. They could easily score 35 or more on us, especially if their QB has time to throw and expose our young secondary. Their defense is sketchy so hopefully we can continue to build on offense and take advantage there. I think it comes down to takeaways and special teams plays. If we do those things like we did against Rice then we win. If not then it's a shoot out and they are better equipped for that. 31-31 overtime. Texas wins in OT.

Yeah but Cal is kind of the opposite of us with their offensive prowess but defensive struggles. We are more balanced than they are actually and at home, but they have serious home run big play capabilities. So yeah...they could bust out some big plays and we're screwed. But if we can limit that part of their offense we have a really good chance in the game. So we'll see.

I watched the broadcast of the UT game since I was there originally and hadn't seen it. Damn there were A LOT of plays made by freshmen out there!! I think they could get some excitement going and get some momentum. But it starts with Cal.

Oh...and Rice is picked to finish 2 or 3 in Conference USA and has gone to a bowl each of the last 3 years. Just sayin.
