Yes, great idea!! Until the drone drops your dinner on the patch of lawn that your dog uses as a bathroom.

Don't worry. The staff in the restaurant washed their hands before preparing your meal. I'm sure the waffer thin bag is anti-bacterial and insulated too!

I am sure it will work in future but really not now when the best maps ( google ) only navigate and leave you on middle of the road not exactly on your building, apartment, balcony or roof.
How comes uber drones will know that ?

It can work right now if customers are ready to sacrifice their freedom and luxury like :

- no need to worry for food to come right infront of door even your house is in wonderland under the tree.

- getting slave for few bucks who will run like a rocket, queue like ant and fight with traffic, rain, wind and storm to keep warm your food. who even greet you no matter how pissed off or rude u r.

- After all if u don't like the service u have freedom to give him shit, get refund after eating all or get one more for free.

- if worst kicked him from job.

- just show ur hand through the door to get ur food if u r naked.

Now all you have to do is dressed up, get ready to go out, look for the drone in sky with ur food.
Here you got it ???

You should see what happens to the food between the time it leaves the restaurant and gets to the customer ?

If drones are all around waiting in streets, ground level houses, buildings, cafes etc -
then the ophthalmologists (Eye Doctors) are going to be busy & business will be booming!

Who is the drone then?
The drone or the dumb human walking around with face in phone walking into many drone propellers

I remember my dissertation over 30 years ago for my accounting degree.

It was on how ‘expert systems’ would replace the more mundane tasks of accounting such as book keeping, accounts payable etc

Roll on 30 years, those relatively easy roles to automate are still in demand.

With eats, the drones will have to be able to deliver to door as that is main reason customer orders through that platform.

In areas like the in the clip, maybe, but how is it going to cope with high-density areas? News people are full of shit.

I remember news reports that by the year 2020 we would be holidaying on Mars, better get their arse into gear if that's gonna happen.
